OBITUARY: The funeral of Leo Garrow, who died at the home of his son, Augustus Garrow, Monday, October 7, 1912, after an illness of two weeks, was held at St. John the Baptist Church on Wednesday morning, October 9, at 10:30 o’clock, the Rev. G.E. L’Ecuyer officiating.

Mr. Garrow is survived by nine children, Mrs. Peter Lafley and Augustus Garrow, of Enosburg Falls; Joseph Garrow, of New Bedford, Mass., Charles Garrow of White Rock, R.I., Mrs. Felix Lavender of Milton, Mrs. Edward Benoit and William Garrow of Montgomery, Mrs. Joseph St. Peter o Winooski, and Paul Garrow of Shelton. Mrs. Leo Garrow died 20 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Garrow were the parents of 13 children.

OBITUARY: RICHFORD – Mrs. Flora Touchette, widow of Lute L. Touchette, died Wednesday, January 24, 1973, at a St. Albans hospital after a brief illness. She was 90.

Born in East Bakersfield June 13, 1882, she was the daughter of Paul and Julia (Lafley) Garrow. She had been a resident of Richford since 11941, and was a member of St. Ann’s Society of All Saints Church.

She leaves a son, Lute L. Touchette Jr. of Hyde Park; two daughters, Mrs. Corine Arruda of East Providence, R.I., and Mrs. Lucille Bardo of Richford; two brothers, Edward Garrow of Montgomery Center and George Garrow of Ossipee, N.H; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 1973 at All Saints Church, the Rev. George Dupuis conducting the Liturgy for Christian Burial. Friends may call at the Spears Funeral Home, 1400 Main St., Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Entombment will be in the Richford vault. Committal will take place in the spring in the family lot in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Enosburg Falls.

OBITUARY: Keith Leonard Thomas Jr., 86, passed away Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, in the Haven Health Center Nursing Home in St. Albans, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 25, 1917, in Enosburgh, VT, the son of the late Leslie B. and Azilda (Garrow) Thomas.

Keith was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School and on June 25, 1938, he married Ethelyn Guillmette in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2003.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre where he was part of the first allied forces to enter Japan.

He was employed by the Vermont Department of Transportation for 41 years. After retiring from the Vermont Department of Transportation in 1980 as the District 8 superintendent, he worked part-time for several summers for the town of St. Albans Highway Department.

He was a volunteer fireman for the town of Enosburgh for approximately 20 years. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 42, of Enosburg Falls and was an original member of the American Legion Honor Guard after World War II. In addition, he was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

He enjoed making maple sugar at his woodlot in East Enosburg, camping during the summer at Lake Carmi, and staying in Florida during the winter.

He is survived by his wife, Ethelyn Thomas of Enosburg Falls; his son, Keith Thomas Jr. and his wife, Francine, of Essex Junction; three grandchildren, Michele Thomas of Burlington, Peter Thomas of Essex Junction and Paul Betz Jr. of South Burlington. He was predeceased by a daughter, Priscilla Betz.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Benedict Kigly celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Interment will follow in St. Joh the Baptist Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Spears Funeral Home, 95 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
