Larry had two sons, William of Summerville, S.C., Paul of Essex Junction, Vt., and Eric of Cortland and a daughter, Harriett Parton of Madison, Ind., by a previous marriage at the time he married (2nd) Barbara Grace Bishop McIlvenna on 1 November 1969 in the Second Congregational Church at Cortland. Larry and Barbara adopted a son ca. 1972. His wife, the former Barbara Bishop, died in 1985.
Larry resided at 12 Huntington Street in Cortland at the time of his death. He had been a member of Cortland VFW 2354.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Raymond Cope, who died in 1988; her parents; two sisters, Agnes Dashnau and Esther Conde; and one brother, William Francis Oram.

A memorial service was at Hanover Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Point Rock Cemetery in Point Rock, N.Y.

She was born Sept. 28, 1924, in East Orange, N.J., the daughter of Dr. James A. and Lena (King) Tobey. She was educated in the schools of New York and Virginia, and received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Wheaton Collage in Norton, Mass., in 1946.

She moved to Farmington in 1961 and was primarily a homemaker and community volunteer. Among the activities she supported with her time were Cub Scouts, Titcomb Ski Slope, Mallett School Volunteers, American Legion Auxiliary, Old South Friends, making mittens for children, Garden Club and the Thrift Shop.

Her favorite activities were playing golf, tennis, swimming, cribbage and knitting.

She will be remembered for her unselfish gifts to others, and her love for her family.

She is survived by four sons, David E. Hoisington and wife, Linda, of South Paris, Steven B. and wife, Melinda, of Poland, Richard T. of Jay, and J. Scott and wife, Melissa, of Kingfield; brother and sister-in-law, William and Marty Tobey of Shelbourne, Vt; 10 grandchildren, Jill, Jeff, Sara, Amy, Matt, Kara, Krista, Ben, Molly and Julia; four nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Bernice Hoisington of Farmington.

He was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Charlestown, N.H., the son of George E. and Elsie (Phelps) Blodgett, and attended schools in Charlestown.

He was married to Louise Silver who predeceased him and later to Mildred Rivers who also predeceased him.

Mr. Blodgett worked as a painter for contractors in the Bellows Falls, Windsor and Claremont areas for many years.
served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion Post in Windsor and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Blodgett and Greg Blodgett; two daughters, Rosemary and Denise; several stepchildren; a brother, Russell Blodgett of Westminster; three sisters, Aleda Barraby of Colorado, Blanche Handley of Springfield and Carol Barraby of Colchester; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Blodgett was predeceased by a brother, Harold Blodgett, and two sisters, Esther Lynch and Marion Hall.

The graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date in Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of Vermont and New Hampshire, P.O. Box 976, White River Junction, VT 05001; or to Cedar Hill Health Care Center, Windsor, VT 05089.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
