She was born in Richford on October 1, 1922 the daughter of the late, Harvey & Elizabeth (Lahue) Bashaw.

She was a 1941 graduate of Richford High School and subsequently married Albert “Pit” Martel on June 27, 1945 and made their home in Richford where they raised their family.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, Christopher & Susan Martel of Richford, and Gregory & Dorothy Martel of Apex, NC; 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great grandchildren; and 2 step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Stevens and Candice Corey. Besides her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her husband Albert “Pit” Martel; her sister, Marjorie Lahue; and her great grandson, Matthew James Martel Jr.

The family wishes to thank the office of Dr. Lorne Babb, the management and employee’s at Our Lady of the Meadows and Franklin County Home Health Agency for their excellent care and compassion.

In keeping with Arlene’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours or public service. A graveside service for the family will be held at their convenience.

Lucille was born in St. Angele de Menoire, Province of Quebec, Canada on Sept. 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Albert and Blanche (Beaulieu) Viens.

She attended Holy Angels School and graduated from the Holy Angels Business School. Lucille married Kenneth Shepard on June 28, 1947.

He predeceased her on Sept. 4, 1977. Lucille was employed at the Colchester Police Department for 11 years, and at IBM for 10 years. She loved gardening, oil-painting, and cooking.

Lucille is survived by four children, Suzanne DeAngelis and husband Roger, Kenneth Shepard, Jr. and wife Melinda, Jane Powers and husband Thomas, and Janet Manny and husband Paul; seven grandchildren, Katie DeAngelis-Hesla, Jessica Shurlow, Kenneth Powers, Michael Powers, Margaret DeAngelis, Joseph Shepard, and Emily Manny; a great-grandson, Jack Hesla; and a sister, Frankie Balch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester.

Interment will be held at the Colchester Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours.

Arrangements are with the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St., Winooski, VT 05404.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Anne. She was also housekeeper for Reverend Gavin Maloney in Enosburg for several years. For the past 2 years she attended St. Anthony's Church in Sheldon.
She is survived by a son, Raymond Dragon and his very special friend, Laurie Chaloux of Bakersfield; three daughters and their husbands, Teresa & Allison Stanley of St. Albans, Rita and Wilfred Minckler and Rose and Ronald Longe, both of Sheldon; one brother, Omer Piette and his wife, Mable of Enosburg; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildrden; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 2 great-granddaughters, Jessica Little and Rosanne LaPlant; 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Sheldon.

ObituaryJan 24, 2008  OBITUARY: BERKSHIRE – Gary James Domina, age 61, passed away Wednesday evening January 23, 2008 at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 24, 1946 in Montgomery the son of the late Archie & Adeline (Lumbra) Domina Gary was a dairy farmer most of his life being self employed as well as working for many area dairy farms. He also drove truck, delivering feed to farms around Franklin County. He enjoyed to hunt but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was married to Pauline Garrow on June 26, 1971. Besides his wife, he is survived by their children, Alex Domina and his wife Melinda of Berkshire, Jennifer Diette and her husband Kevin of Berkshire, and Ryan Domina of Berkshire; his grandchildren, Alyssa Domina, Kevin Diette Jr., twins – Kaitlyn & Erin Diette, and Lauren Diette; 2 brothers and their wives, Archie & Rose Anne Domina of Sheldon, and Donald & Penny Domina of Johnson; a sister, Linda Clark of Berkshire; his uncle, Arnold Lumbra of Berkshire; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Gary was predeceased by a son, Kristopher Domina on August 21, 1992. Funeral services will be held Sunday January 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will be next spring in the Montgomery Center Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 4-6 PM at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls. For those who wish, contributions in Gary’s memory may be made to FAHC, Development Office, 111 Colchester Ave. Burlington, VT 05401 to Community Health Improvement for Vermont tobacco cessation program. Gary’s family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to Abby Austin, Dr. Andrew Stanley and his staff, and the nursing staff at the Intensive Care Surgical Unit at Fletcher Allen for the love and support given to their father, grandfather, and brother.

ObituaryJan 14, 2008  OBITUARY: LORRAINE LACAILLADE BOLTON — Lorraine Eleanor Champney Lacaillade died unexpectedly Jan. 12, 2008 in the comfort of her home. She was born Sept. 13, 1924 in Jonesville. She was the thirteenth of fifteen children born to John and Josephine Pecor. Lorraine married Cleveland Champney on July 31, 1941, starting 26 years of a very happy marriage and the birth of nine children. Lorraine's life was all about people and caring for people in need. While she was bringing up her own nine children, she opened her home and heart to many foster children who also thought of her as their "Ma". She later worked at the Vermont State Hospital as a psychiatric technician until she opened one of the first community care homes in the State of Vermont where she provided a home for up to eleven community patients. She operated this community home until her final retirement in 1988. Throughout her life, Lorraine enjoyed watching wrestling, playing board games with her grandchildren and running her snow blower. Lorraine is survived by her children, Bernard Champney and wife Ginny of Waterbury; Charlene Hayford and husband Ellis of Williston; Mildred Barup and husband Ray; Gary Champney and wife Linda of Holland; Geraldine Germaine and husband Arnie of Richmond; Doreen Dion and friend Bill of Anna Marie Island, Fla; Maureen McIntyre and husband Michael of Bolton; and Lorraine's surrogate daughter Mary Archer. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Eunice Rivers of Norwich, Conn. and Francis Miller of Essex Center; and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband Cleveland Champney in 1967; two sons, Roger Champney in 1962 and Joe Champney in 1993. She was also predeceased by eight sisters, Sally, Sophronia, Janet, Lillian, Agnes, Verna, Theresa and Gladys; and four brothers, Jim, Kenneth, Virgil and Delbert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m., in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Richmond. Friends and family may call at the Gifford Funeral Home, Depot Street, Richmond on Tuesday, Jan. 15 between the hours of 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions should be sent to the Richmond Rescue Squad in Richmond. Arrangements are in the care of Gifford Funeral Home.4

She was born Nov. 29. 1914, in Clarenceville, Quebec, the daughter of Angeline (Selby) and George Crandall.
She married Benjamin Rye Sr. on Oct. 13, 1933. He died in 1982.
Mrs. Rye took care of elderly people, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of Black River Grange.
She enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
iSurvivors nclude three daughters, Beverly Maynard of Ludlow, Mary Donovan and Judith Pelkey, both of Largo, Fla; two sons, Benjamin Rye Jr. of Cape Cod, Mass., and George Rye of Ludlow; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Robert Rye; and two brothers, George Crandall and Richard Crandall.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ludlow Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Council on Aging for the Southeastern Vermont Inc., 56 Main St., Springfield, 05156.
