ObituaryJan 15, 2014  OBITUARY: Roger R. Lussier, 82, of Lyndonville died peacefully Monday afternoon, January 13, 2014 at the Pine's Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndon, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 21, 1931 in East Albany, VT the son of Antonio and Georgiana (Letourneau) Lussier. On June 28, 1952, Roger married Evelyn Walker of Sheffield.

During his life, Roger was an astute businessman who undertook many endeavors including; farming, auctioneering, sales, banking and real estate. Personal interest included spending time with family and friends at the camps on Shadow Lake and Marl Pond, hunting, fishing, playing cards, casual dinners and many years piloting his own plane. He was a member of the Benton Masonic Lodge #88 of Guildhall and the Walden Club, where he enjoyed the fellowship of meeting new and old friends.

Roger valued and understood strong work ethics and the meaning of a handshake. He was a steward of the land and felt a strong connection to it as well as the people who worked it. He also admired and respected the Native American way of life.

Survivors include his wife of nearly sixty-two years, Evelyn Lussier of Lyndonville; four children, Reginald Lussier and wife Heidi of Kirby, Kathleen Pearl and husband Ronald of Lyndon, Richard Lussier and wife Virginia of Lyndon, and David Lussier and wife Lise of Lyndon; three brothers, Bert Lussier of Richford, Noel Lussier and wife Barbara of Florida and Bernie Lussier and wife Linda of Craftsbury; three sisters, Lucille Sanville of Craftsbury, Yolande Bracci of Florida and Lorraine Lussier of Hardwick; a sister in law, Bea Lussier of Berkshire; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was predeceased by his parents; his son, Steven Lussier in 2011; a brother, Laurant Lussier and a sister, Marielle Stone.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Lyndonville with the Rev. Luke Austin officiating. There will be no visiting hours.

Spring committal services are planned for Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. at William-Dexter Cemetery in Sheffield.

Donations made in Roger's memory may be directed to The Pine's Rehabilitation and Health Center, marked for the staff's Continuing Education and Training Fund , 601 Red Village Road, Lyndonville, VT 05851.

ObituaryJun 1, 2019  OBITUARY: Evelyn Marion Lussier, age 90, of Park Avenue, Lyndonville, Vt., passed away with her family surrounding her at Susie Greaves Homecare in Lyndonville on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

Evelyn was born in Sheffield, Vt., on Dec. 28, 1928, daughter to the late Eddie and Iola (Sheldon) Walker. She grew up in Sheffield and went to Lyndon Institute where she graduated with the Class of 1948. On June 28, 1952, she married Roger Reginald Lussier becoming a wife and mother to 5 children.

She worked for years alongside Roger in many businesses over the years, but her family was always first and foremost in her life. Evelyn sparked a new happiness when she became a grandmother. She adored her 15 grandchildren and each one was her favorite. Then Evelyn was blessed with 37 great-grandchildren, who enjoyed many years with their Great Memere at her home and camp. Evelyn was the family historian for both sides of the family; family reunions were very important to her and she was the organizer for her family and Roger’s. And true to her passion she put together life history binders for each of her children filled with history, stories and many pictures.

Her home was always an open door for family of all generations to pop in and visit. She still kept children’s toys and goodies for every age. There was no chance of ever selling the family home because it was centrally located and easy for everyone to visit. In Evelyn’s later years a granddaughter gifted her with two tiny kittens from an abandoned litter, they were named Mary and Joseph. The cats brought much joy and fun to Evelyn and all her family.

Evelyn is survived by 4 children; 2 sisters. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Roger, her son: Steven R. Lussier and 3 siblings: Gordon Walker, Willie Walker and Goldie Paquin.

Burial at the William Dexter Cemetery.

ObituaryDec 16, 1988  OBITUARY: BARTON – Carrolll S. Billado, 61, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, December 14, 1988, at the Copley Hospital in Morrisville.

He was born in Enosburg March 24, 1927, the son of the late Herman and Avris (Clark) Billado. Mr. Billado was a resident of Enosburg most of his life and for the last seven years made his home in Barton. He was employed as a foreman at the Sundown Construction Corp. of Stowe. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post No. 28 of North Troy and VFW Post No. 9653 of Morrisville.

He is survived by his former wife, Doreen (Mason) Billado; three sons, Carroll Jr. of Irasburg, Douglas of Richford, and Daniel of Swanton; five daughters, Mrs. William (Avis) Ingalls of Irasburg, Mrs. John (Jeanie) Bryce of Fairfield, Mrs. Rene (Barbara) Beauregard, and Mrs. David (Kathleen) Marshia, both of Enosburg, and Mrs. Tom (Lisa) Lefebvre of Goldsboro, NC; one stepson, Pvt. Michael Mason of Atsugi, Japan; a brother, Orrson Billado of Barton; 28 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor (Lackey) Billado and two sons, Richard and Timothy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, 1988, at 10 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home on Dickinson Avenue in Enosburg Falls, with the Rev. Edward Hackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Missisquai Cemetery I Enosburg with full military honors. Friends may call at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Friday from 222 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For those who wish, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 2821 Shelburne Road, Shelburne, VT 05483.

She was a resident of Richford for the past 15 years and a former resident of Enosburg Falls. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 42, Enosburg Falls, and the United Methodist Church of Richford.

She was born in Barre Dec. 26, 1926, daughter of Cortis and Almeda (Gifford) Lackey.

Besides her husband, she, leaves four sons, Carroll S. Jr., Douglas W. and Daniel E., all of Richford and Richard of Sheldon; five daughters, Mrs. Rene (Barbara) Beauregard, Miss Kathleen Billado and Miss Lisa Billado of Richford, Mrs. Harold (Avris) Willey Jr. of Eden Mills and Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Conger of Highgate; 15 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Madeline) Burns of Enosburg Falls, Mrs. Clifford (Evelyn) Bolio of North Hyde Park, Mrs. Jack (Frances) Tatro of Swanton and Mrs. Herbert (Marion) Bell of Highgate; several nieces and nephews. A son, Timothy, died in December, 1972.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 at the United Methodist Church, Enosburg Falls, with the Rev. Clair F. Yohe officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Missisquoi Cemetery, Enosburg Falls. Friends may call at the Spears Funeral Home, 14 Orchard St., Enosburg Falls, Saturday afternoon, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
