He was a self-employed truck driver. Mr. McLaren was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include seven sons, John McLaren Jr. of Pittsford, James McLaren and Jay McLaren, both of Rutland, Harland McLaren and Jerry McLaren, both of Stuart, Fla., Terry McLaren of Richmond and Paul McLaren of West Rutland; five daughters, Judy Hawkins of Jupiter, Fla., Patricia Taylor and Mary Bell, both of Rutland, Joyce Humphrey of Shrewsbury and Pauline Friot of Richmond; 40 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara R. (Garrow) McLaren, in 1982, and by several brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will take place at a later date in Egypt Cemetery in Fairfield.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home.

ObituarySep 1, 2000  OBITUARY: ENOSBURG FALLS, VT – Joyce E. Garrow, age 69, wife of Edward Garrow, died Thursday morning, August 31, 2000, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

She was born Oct. 23, 1930 in Montgomery, the daughter of the late Herman & Marguerite (Greenia) Pudvah.

Joyce was a loving wife and mother. She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing crafts, baking and having lawn sales; most of her passion was Bingo. It was there she formed many lasting friendships.

She is survived by her husband, Edward “Eddie” Garrow of Enosburg Falls; one son and his life partner, David & Dennis Kinney-Garrow of Starksboro; one brother and his wife, Charles & Patricia Pudvah of Montgomery; two sisters, Martha Daudelin and her husband Paul of Richford, and Ramona Eldridge of Montgomery; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Whitehead.

Visiting hours will be held one hour prior to the funeral, which will be held Saturday afternoon, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home on Dickinson Ave., in Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery.

For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., Vermont Affiliate, Inc., 77 Hegeman Ave., Colchester, VT 05446.

She was born Nov. 17, 1945, in Rutland, the daughter of Harold and Gladys (Pollard) Fuller.
She graduated from Black River High School in Ludlow in 1965.
Mrs. Garrow and her husband owned and operated Charles Garrow Farm in Mount Holly.
She was a member of the Mount Holly Volunteer Fire Department and Mount Holly Rescue.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Garrow; three daughters, Carol Garrow-Wooley, Brenda Garrow and Lori Norton, all of Mount Holly; a brother, Robert Pollard of Chester; two sisters, Dianne Bixby of Ludlow and Helen Frechette of Rutland; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Fuller; and an aunt.
The graveside service will be held at a later date in Packer Cemetery in Mount Holly.
Friends may call at the Garrow Farm from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Holly Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 102, Mount Holly, 05758.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
