ObituaryApr 20, 2016  OBITUARY: Earl Stanley Griffin, 79, passed away at Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington on Tuesday April 19, 2016. He was born in Cambridge on July 19, 1936 son of the late James and Marion (McLaren) Griffin. Earl was an avid Hunter and Fisherman; he loved anything outdoors including sugaring, riding around the on the back roads, shooting his guns, and watching the wildlife. He especially loved looking out the window and watching the birds and the squirrels. Earl lived for his family and the many friends he made along the way. He had a wonderful sense of humor and boy, could he tell some stories. He had a special place in his heart for his” little buddy” Willy, his dog. He worked for many years at Lafayette Inc. in Essex Junction and he installed chain link fencing for Sears, Roebuck & Co.

Earl is survived by his four sons: Stanley and Gigi, William, Wayne and Nora, John, his daughter Vanessa St. Amour and Joseph, his sister Violet Hobart, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Vince for his help and support over the last two years.

He was predeceased by his wife Hilda Griffin and his sister Mona Johnson.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday April 24, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the A W Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main Street, Essex Jct., VT 05452. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Reverend Charles Ranges, S.S.E. officiating. Memorial contributions in Earl’s memory may be made to Vermont Lung Association, 30 Farrell Street, So. Burlington, VT 05403. He was a communicant of the Trinity Lutheran Church Of Kissimmee.

Mr. Askham was predeceased by a son, Wesley Askham.

Survivors include two sons, James Askham of Nashua and Paul Askham of Manchester; a sister, Fran Michuda of Nashua; seven grandchildren;and seven great- grandchildren.
