Bernard was born April 11, 1961 in Westfield Massachusetts. The second of seven children. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Eleanor Bean Paquette, father, Bernard Allen Paquette Sr. and nephew, “Chuck” Sartwell.

He is survived by his children and their families, Joshua Allen Ives and his children, Danielle, Lacey and Caleb, Jonathan Ross Paquette, and his wife, Kailee and their children, Lily, Sophia, Jace, Eli, and his daughter Taylor Elizabeth Paquette aka his “baby girl”; seven siblings and their families; Kimberly Marie Sartwell and her husband, Charles G. Sartwell, and their daughter, Jenn Sartwell and her 7 adopted grandchildren, Earl W. Paquette and his daughters, Kayla, Karly, and Korey Paquette, Timmy A. Paquette and his wife, Melissa Paquette and their daughters, Katie and Shelby, Michael E. Paquette and sons, Micheal and Dustin Paquette, Joanne Paquette and her sons, Brian and Tyler Corwell; half-sister Crystal Bean Paquette and her children, Crystina Paquette and William Bean.

Bernard was a man of many crafts, he highly enjoyed doing things with his hands and anything that involved the outdoors... you could say nature was his second home. He worked jobs as a roofer, painter and built bridges with McDonalds Co. Any chance he had to be outside, he would. Some of the things he enjoyed most in life were hunting and fishing... you could catch him during any season with his best friend, “Jake” his K9 companion out tracking rabbits, pheasants or on the lake reeling in the big catch. Bernard enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his kids, family and friends doing these very things along with handing out advice to his many nieces and nephews. Other hobbies of his were snowmobiling, archery and collecting old coins. Anyone who’s ever met Bernard always walked away with a smile, it was hard not to with his jokester personality and warming laugh. Without a doubt, Bernard has touched so many lives, he will be forever missed, forever loved and forever alive in all our hearts.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

Visitation will be held on Thursday at Spears Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until the hour of the service.

ObituaryJan 12, 2003  OBITUARY: BRATTLEBORO - Stanley Celan Place, 79, of Putney died Jan. 11, 2003, at Eden Park Nursing Home. He had been a resident at the nursing home since December.
He was born in Richmond on May 17, 1923, the son of Rollin and Ida (Hill) Place. He was raised and educated in Richmond.
He served win the U.S. Army with the 516th Field Artillery Battalion in World War II. He saw action during the Rhineland and Central Europe campaign. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theater campaign ribbon, and the good conduct and victory medals. He was honorably discharged at the rank of corporal in March 1946.
He married Lynda W. Moscaritolo.
A resident of Putney for the past 16 years, he previously lived in East Hartford, Conn.
He worked in the engineering department at Hartford (Conn.) Hospital for 19 years, retiring in 1985. He had previously owned and operated his own service station in East Hartford, Conn., and was a former employee at Pratt & Whitney in Hartford.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles S. Place of Windsor Locks, Conn; a daughter, Sharon Marziale, also of Windsor Locks; two stepsons, James Hinkle of Denver, Colo., and Eric Hinkle of Columbus, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Lynda L. Sillner of Keene, N.H., and Laura L. Fernandez of Amherst, Mass; five grandchildren; a great - grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Wilfred Place; a sister, Isabelle Rogers; and a grandson.
A graveside committal service with full honors will be conducted in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Putney at a later date.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Atamaniuk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
