ObituaryJan 18, 2016  OBITUARY: Williston/Winooski - Clayton Roger Langlais, 91, passed away on January 17, 2016 at the VT Respite House in Williston after an heroic yearlong battle with cancer.

Born in Burlington, VT on October 21, 1924 to Hildevert and Rose Anna (Bisaillon) Langlais, he was educated in Winooski Schools.

Clayton proudly served his country with the Merchant Marines during World War II aboard the U.S.A.T. LAKEHURST. He also served in the Army Transport Service. He was awarded the Presidential Testimonial Letter signed by President Harry S. Truman and the Honorable Service button. Upon his discharge he worked in the Mills, St. Michaels College in charge of supplies, and the Winooski VFW as a bartender and club historian. His knowledge of date and events was truly amazing.

Clayton is survived by his sister Rose Aline Bilodeau and her husband John. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by his longtime friends Mary Picard and Steve Woodworth who loved Clayton very much. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Lorrraine McGrath, and his brothers Donald, Ralph and Bernard.

The family would like to thank the staff and Volunteers at the Vermont Respite House for the love, care and support they provided to Clayton and family, especially in these final days. Words cannot express how greatful we are to all of you.

A celebration of Clayton's life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with a service to be held at 10:30 a.m. with Post Chaplan Craig LaVigne officiating at the Winooski VFW with a reception to follow. Clayton will be laid to rest with his parents and sister. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request you make a donation in Clayton's memory to the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495 to thank them for the love and tenderness they provided to Clayton.

ObituaryAug 30, 2002  OBITUARY: ENOSBURG FALLS -- Sarto R. Brodeur, age 83, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 29, 2002, at Haven Health Facility in St. Albans. He was born June 21, 1919, in Granby, Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Henri and Marie-Rhea (Lusignan) Brodeur.

Sarto moved to Vermont in 1945, and worked as a dairy farmer for over 25 years. He then was employed by Rochleau Motors. Following retirement, he became a handyman for his children and especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie (Tetreault) Brodeur of Enosburg Falls; three sons, Richard Brodeur of Enosburg Falls, Robert Brodeur and his wife Eleanor of Milton, and Claude Brodeur and his companion Ruth Way of Berkshire; three daughters, Henriette Emch of Richford, Denise Hoadley and her companion Hector Brown of Enosburg Falls, and Nicole Herron and her husband Gerald of Enosburg Falls; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Rita Rainville of St. Paul d'Abbosford, Quebec, Henriette Daoust of Granby, Quebec, Berthe Rollin of St. Hubert, Quebec, Laurence Archambault of St. Dominque, Quebec, and Monique Vachon of Delson, Quebec; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Pauline Brodeur; a son-in-law, Paul Hoadley; four brothers, Elisee, Joseph, Oliver and Richard Brodeur.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Reverend Gerard Leclerc celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

ObituaryOct 3, 2018  OBITUARY: ENOSBURG FALLS – Marie-Ange Brodeur, age 100, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab Center.

She was born on November 22, 1917 in Frelighsburg, Quebec, Canada to the late Joseph & Delia (Piette) Tetreault.

Marie grew up in Quebec, and married Sarto R. Brodeur of Granby, Que. on April 22 1944. The two moved to the United States in December of 1945 and raised their family in Enosburg and West Berkshire. Marie was a homemaker for most of her life, but she also worked as a seamstress at the sewing factory for many years. Marie loved to knit, crochet, sew, and make clothes. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Ladies of Sainte Anne. Marie treasured the time she spent with her family and beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Richard Brodeur of Johnson, Robert Brodeur and his wife Eleanor of Milton, Claude Brodeur and his companion Ruth Way of Berkshire, Henriette Emch of St. Albans, Denise Hoadley-Brown of Berkshire, and Nicole Herron and her husband Gerald of Enosburg; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Madeleine Brodeur and Rita Rainville; and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband, Sarto Brodeur; her siblings, Wilfred, Oscar, Mathilda, Alexina, Mederise, and Cecile; her daughter-in-law Pauline Brodeur; and sons-in-law, Paul Hoadley and Hector Brown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 5 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickenson Ave, Enosburg Falls.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marie’s memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery Association or St. John the Baptist Ladies of St. Anne, P.O. Box 563, Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.
