OBITUARY: Charles P Shiflett,81 departed this life Jan 24, 1925, at his home near Boonesville. He was the son of the late Calvin and Elizabeth Herrin Shiflett. He leaves a wife Sarah Walton Shiflett and seven childrens, George Burrus, Zermie and Howard Shiflett of Boonesville. Mrs. Moses Via and Miss. Josie Shiflett of Browns Cove. Mrs. Newman Shiflett of Crozet, and Tom Lewis Shiflett of Schuyler. He also leaves 40 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Prize Hill Cemetery.

OBITUARY: George Burruss Shiflett, 75 ,retire farmer, died last night at his home near Boonesville, He was a native of Albemarle County, son of the late Charles P and Sarah Walton. He is survived by his wife Maude Shiflett and one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Via, of Ivy , two sisters, Mrs.W.M.Via of Boonesville and Mrs. Newman Shiflett of Crozet and three brothers,Joseph Shiflett and C.H.Shiflett of Boonesville, Thomas L.Shiflett of Churchville. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. from St.John's Episcopal Church in Blackwell's Hollow, the service will be conducted by the Rev.W.M.Stitt.Interment will follow in the cemetery at Prize Hill Church.

OBITUARY: BOONESVILLE - Mrs. Lucy Ann Via, 88, of Boonesville, widow of William Moses Via, died today at her home. She was born Jan 15, 1878, in Albemarle County, a daughter of the late Charles P. and Sarah Ann Walton Shiflett. Surviving are three sons, James H. Via of Baltimore, Md., Joseph A. Via of Crozet and Carl M. Via of Boonesville; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Wood and Mrs. Florence Gibson of Boonesville, Mrs. Mabel Shiflett, of Crozet and Mrs. Mary Walton of Baltimore, Md; and 24 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Prize Hill Church with burial in the church cemetery. Preddy-Teague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

OBITUARY: Henry Zermie Shifflett 78 of Boonesville died Monday at a Staunton hospital. He was born in Albemarle County. He was the son of the late Charles P and Sarah Walton Shifflett. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Addie Shifflett three sons Clarence Shifflett of White Hall, James Shifflett of Washington D.C. and Alonzo Shifflett of Roanoke, Five daughters, Mrs.Violet Lawson and Mrs.James D Wood both of Charlottesville, Mrs.Carrie P Shifflett of Boonesville, Mrs,Claude Herring of Sparrows Point Md, and Mrs.Raymond Walton of Westminster, Md. A brother Thomas L Shifflett of Boonesville and a sister, Mrs.Lucy N Via of Boonesville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Prize Hill Church of Boonesville with burial in the church cemetery.

OBITUARY: Charles Howard Shiflett, a native of this county, died Saturday at his home in Sparrows Point, Md., where he had resided for the past 18 years. He was the son of the late Charles H. and Sarah Walton Shiflett and was 54 years of age. Besides his wife, Mrs. Lonnie Shiflett, he is survived by one son, Russell Shiflett and two daughters. Mrs. William Ralusnock and Mrs. Hallie Shaw, of Baltimore. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from Prize Hill Church near Boonesville the service to be conducted by the Rev. Freeman Fisk. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
