He was a native of Albemarle, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvery Shiflett, and was 89 years of age. He is survived by one son, John M. Shiflett, of Alexandria, and four daughters, Mrs. Alice Shiflett and Mrs. Lucy Jones, of Owensville; Mrs. Rosa Walton of Boonesville, and Mrs. Ollie Frazier of Mt. Fair. There are 30 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren. Mr. Shiflett also leaves one sister, Mrs. Louisa Shiflett, of Mission Home. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from Prize Hill Church, near Boonesville. The funeral party will leave the Preddy Funeral Home at 12:45 o'clock.
