ObituaryNov 21, 2012  OBITUARY: LOWELL -- James R. Lunderville, 80, of the Acre and Pawtucketville Sections of Lowell, died November 18, 2012, at Radius Northwood Health Care Center, five days before his Eightieth Birthday.

He was born on November 22, 1932, son of the late Blanche (Bailey) and Glenn Lunderville. After the death of both parents, he was raised by Catherine and Thomas Qualey, attended St. Patrick's Boy's School and Lowell High School. Mr. Lunderville joined the Air Force in 1951 during the Korean Conflict, serving in Germany with the Military Police. In his youth, he was a familiar name in the Acre Section of the City where he played with the 'Tiger Boyle' and the 'Acre Shamrocks' Leagues. He was also active as a coach in P.Y.O. Baseball.

James was employed by Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank and Commonwealth Federal Banks and after retiring, he worked at 7- Eleven Convenience Store.

He is survived by his wife, Ann (Teague) Lunderville; his two daughters, Roberta Hayden and her husband, William, of Groton, and Rhonda Sarica and her husband, Gary, of Tyngsboro; a son, James 'Lundy' Lunderville of Lowell an active member of AYO; five grandchildren, Elizabethe Hayden and William Hayden, Bethany Sarica, Alyssa Diamantopoulos and Justin Diamantopoulos; his sister-in-law, Agnes Lunderville of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Frechette and his five brothers, Francis Lunderville, Albert Lunderville, Edward Lunderville, Raymond Lunderville, and Glenn Lunderville.

Born in Palo Alto, PA, Joe graduated from Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville, and then honorably served in the U.S. Army obtaining the rank of SP(4).

Joe had a very successful 25-year career as a PA State Policeman from 1970 to 1994, graduating with the 25th Cadet Class and then assigned to Troop J out of the Embreeville Barracks. A Trooper in the Criminal Investigation Unit, Joe was frequently sought out for homicide and Part 1 Offences investigations. He was also assigned to the original State Police Criminal Profiling Unit and helped to initiate and make the unit successful. After retiring from the State Police, Joe worked in insurance fraud, fully retiring in 2012.

He enjoyed the art of carpentry, carving ducks and wooden Santa Clauses, and emulating Norm Abrams of This Old House. Joe and Julie enjoyed travelling throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean.

In addition to his wife Julie, Joe is survived by a son, William Harris Sprake IV, husband of Nicole; four grandchildren, Larkyn Elizabeth Stroud, wife of Ian, Erynn Grace Sprake, Aiden Mark Sprake, and Jaxon Harris Sprake, all of Ruther Glen, VA; two great-grandsons, Phoenixx and Lynxx Stroud, of Ruther Glen, VA; his sister, Josephine Dolores Straka, Schuylkill Haven, wife of the late Andrew Straka, his brother, Richard Joseph Joy, husband of Connie J. of Pine Grove, PA, several nieces and nephews, and his rescued Golden Retriever, Holly Beary Joy.

Services and interment will be private.

ObituaryNov 14, 2022  OBITUARY: Solange “Sally” Patenaude, 86, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022, at Michaud Manor in Derby Line, Vermont. Sally was born in Newport on April 11, 1936, to Albert and Juliette Roberge.

On June 13, 1955, she married Augustin “Gus” Patenaude who predeceased her on January 13, 2012. After farming for five years in Beebe Plain when they were first married, Gus and Sally purchased the family farm in Holland in 1960 where they farmed together for over fifty years and raised five children. After Gus’s passing in 2012, Sally moved to Derby Line where she quickly became fondly known for her friendly waves and happy greetings from her porch on Main Street. Sally brought that same joy to both the residents and the staff at Michaud Manor where she resided for the last year of her life.

“Live, love, and laugh” is a perfect motto for how Sally lived her life. She loved to make people laugh and she was very good at it. Her home was always the favorite gathering place for her family. She prided herself on having been the class clown growing up which is no doubt why she was the vice president of her senior class. Sally often remarked that it was much easier to live seeing the good in things and being grateful rather than “moping around” focused on the negative. A nurse at Michaud Manor shared that they often sat Sally at the table of another resident who was feeling depressed because “Silly Sally” could always make someone smile and feel better. Sally also loved to dance, play cards, and be social while camping and traveling. She had a wonderful, happy spirit that will be missed terribly.

Sally was also a very deeply faithful woman. Even when her mind was failing her and she was feeling anxious, she would often say that she would just go to bed, say her prayers and start again the next day. Sally was a long time member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and served on the Ladies Altar Society for many years. She was always happy to share her homemaking skills with others and had a very giving spirit!

Sally is survived by her children: daughter Pauline (Keith) Bracey, Annette Patenaude, Ted (Shirley) Patenaude, and Ron (Jen) Patenaude; daughter-in-law Kathy Patenaude, grandchildren Katrina (Al) Solerno, Kylie (Jeremy) Powell, Kristan Patenaude, Amber (Marv) Lantagne, Tory Ladue, Cody Ladue, Kate Patenaude, Jacob Patenaude, and Molly Patenaude; great grandchildren Jesse (Maria), Jenna, Anna, Balin, Everly, Chad (Gianna), Evan and Hayden; and great great grandchildren Jaxon, Skylynn, Stella, Juliette, Jax, Akilian and Alexiah. Sally is also survived by her sisters Lise (Donald) Fournier and Suzanne Larkin as well as her brother/sister in-laws Judy Roberge, Lorette Touchton, Albert and Berthe Patenaude, Theresa Patenaude, Anna Patenaude, Maurice and Denise Patenaude, John and Sue Patenaude. Sally was predeceased by her husband Gus, son Robert, sister Jeanne (Ted) Markut, brothers Jean-Paul (Lorette), Roger and Richard (Claire) Roberge, brother-in-law Charles Larkin, brother/sister-in-law Alphonse and Yvette Patenaude, and brother-in-law Leo Patenaude. Sally also had many beloved nieces, nephews and close family friends.

Calling hours will be held this Saturday, November 19th from 9:30-11:30 am at Curtis-Britch-& Bouffard Funeral Home at 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. She was born in Fairfield on July 16, 1927 to the late Joseph & Alma (Messier) Pilon.

Cecile joined the then St. Albans Hospital as a member of the Housekeeping Department in 1948. She later became a kitchen helper, progressed to dietary aide, and was promoted to First Cook. She found joy in reading, crocheting, and not surprisingly, trying out new recipes! She enjoyed all 44 years of service.

Cecile is survived by her son, David Minckler and his wife Heidi; her daughter, Lorraine Minckler; and many nieces and nephews. Cecile was predeceased by her husband of over 70 years, James Minckler on September 18, 2022.

Friends and family are invited to Cecile’s Life Celebration to include a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton, Vermont. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Swanton.

Peter graduated from Missisquoi Valley Union. He worked as a Forklift Operator for Kaytec for 21 years.

Peter could always be found with a beer, a scratch ticket, and a smoke, while preparing to tell a good story. He was a proud Eagle Scout as a teenager, with his father as the scout master. He loved to cook at the boy scout jamborees. Peter's favorite past times were hunting (with his 30-06), fishing, a long drive, cooking, and working. He was an incredibly proud father. Peter never missed a home game, and everything he did was for his boys. His door was always open to anyone that needed a meal or place to lay their head at night. His house was a safe and fun place for anyone. No matter what life threw at him, he never quit.

Within his later years, he really focused on taking care of his family. His grandchildren were his world. The kids could always count on Papa to show up with a bag of candy for each of them. Peter firmly believed that kids should be kids, work ethic should be hard, and at the end of the day life is a party.

He is survived by his children, Matthew Wetherby and his fiance Michelle, Dustin Wetherby and his wife Chelsee, and Glen Wetherby; grandchildren, Nicco, Sophia, Sienna, Harper, Luca, Keelie, Kaelynn, Kylah, Izabella, Dekota, and James; his brother David Wetherby; and his dog Jager.

He also leaves behind boys that became his sons, James, Daryl, Tommy, Mikey and his wife Tara, and their children, Zach, Owen, and Ben.

In respecting Peter's wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

ObituaryApr 12, 2023  OBITUARY: WEST ENOSBURG- Joann "Buffy" Robtoy, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in East Fairfield on August 14, 1936, to the late Henry and Beulah (Lumbra) Raine.

Joann grew up in East Fairfield, where she walked uphill both ways to the Brigham Academy, graduating in a class of five in 1954. During her high school years, she enjoyed playing basketball as a defender, playing the drums, and working for the phone company as a switchboard operator. She met the love of her life, Wayne "George" Robtoy in fourth grade when he tenderly tugged on her pigtails and they were married on August 14, 1954. She followed George to Connecticut for a year, and then the pair made their way back to East Fairfield and Enosburg Falls for a short period before settling in West Enosburg in 1962. In their younger years, Joann and George enjoyed playing cards, and could be found almost every Saturday night square dancing at the Sheldon Casino.

She was a nurturing mother and spent her children's formative years caring for them as she mastered the arts of sewing, quilting, and, through many trials, learning how to cook and bake. Joann became a talented baker and was quickly known for her donuts and breads. She worked for Grand Union, The Village Tavern as a hostess, Montgomery Ward, and then found her calling working for Home Health in Enosburg as a receptionist until the early 2000s.

Joann enjoyed planting her vegetable garden and flower beds, making quilts for almost every family member, along with their favorite desserts on their birthdays, going to lawn sales to find treasures for her own barn sales, journaling each day, collecting recipes, listening to Willie Nelson, and attending her children's and grandchildren's special events. She was fiercely supportive of her family, even spending 6 weeks in Boston by her daughter Wanda's side as she battled a terminal illness. Joann will be deeply missed and remembered for her kindness, generosity, and her unwavering ability to put others first.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wayne "George" Robtoy of West Enosburg; children, Dixie Martin and her husband Steven of Waterbury, Maxine Robtoy of Enosburg, Shelly Charboneau and her husband Jerry of Fairfax, Philip Robtoy and his wife Lisa of West Enosburg, and Trudy Bryce and her husband Tom of Enosburg; grandchildren, Jason Robtoy and his wife Lara, Adam Robtoy and his wife Mary, Josh Martin and his wife Kelly, Levi Martin and his wife Katie, Jesse Bosley and his wife Krystal, Stephanie Joan Fischer, Ellen Stebbins and her husband Landon, Luc Fecteau, Shannon Fecteau, Eric Charboneau, Kelly Lemke and her husband Travis, Jennifer Millington and her husband Bob, Lucien Robtoy, Tyler Bryce and his wife Lindsay, Tristan Bryce, and Trevor Bryce; great grandchildren, Nat, Lilly, Lisey, Colleen, Kellen, Elliot, Cooper, Mia, Noah, Ella, Coraline, Olin, Asher, Waylon, Delaney, Jaiden, Cullen, Leland, Piper, Michael, Ivey, Jack, and Jenny; daughter-in-law, Mary Larivee; sons-in-law, Bob Bosley and his wife Bonnie, and Charlie Fecteau and his wife Charlene; siblings, Vernon Raine and his wife Helen, and Mona Lamarche and her husband Clement; siblings-in-law, Adelphis Robtoy Jr., Philip Robtoy and his wife Linda, Guddie King and her husband Randy, Marcella Robtoy, and Bev Robtoy who she considered her best friend; special friend, Deb Cook; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Joann was predeceased by two children, Wanda Fecteau and Anthony "Andy" Robtoy, as well as several siblings-in-law.

Family and friends are invited to Joann's life celebration events on Monday, April 17, 2023 to include visitation from 10-11:30 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:30AM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.

She was born September 14, 1979, daughter of Pamela Garrow.

Surviving are a son, Payton Tufts; 3 daughters, Abbigail Burke, Tabbitha Burke and Gabbriella Tufts; 2 sisters, Venessa Tufts of Rutland and Nicole Garrow of Newport VT; a niece Alyssa Garrow, and nephews Jacob Garrow, Jayden Garrow, and Issac Garrow. All of which were the center of her life. She was predeceased by her mother, Pamela Garrow and Grandmother Barbara Garrow.

Jody was loved and respected by all who knew her. She worked at Heritage Family Credit Union, and she always put her heart and soul into her work. She made a positive impact on countless people's lives through her dedication and hard work. Jody was devoted to her family and cherished spending time with her loved ones. She was an avid reader and had a lifelong passion for her books. She was a beacon of light and brought love to all who knew her. Jody's passing has left a deep void in the lives of her family and friends. She will be forever remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She will be missed dearly, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service for Jody will be held on April 29,2023-12:00pm at Mission City Church, 3092 Cold River Road in Rutland VT.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Heritage Family Credit Union to help support the family she left behind. Arrangements are by Clifford Funeral Home.
