He was born on March 11, 1917, in Mount Holly, the son of Freeman and Louise (Garrow) Bussino.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the Asian Pacific Theater and was discharged in 1945. He
was awarded the Purple Heart.

Mr. Bussino married Beatrice M. Andrews in 1953.

He was employed by General Electric Co. for 15 years prior to his retirement. Earlier, he owned and operated the Summit Garage in Mount Holly.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10155 in Ludlow, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Belmont and was a founding member of the Mount Holly Snow-drifters snowmobile club.

Mr. Bussino enjoyed gardening, four-wheeling and snowmobiling.

Survivors include a son, Stanley Bussino of Mount Holly and Orwell; a sister, Hattie McDonald of Durham, N.C; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife in 2001 and three sisters, Veronica Pitts, Virginia Eddy and Sherrie Surething.

The private graveside service will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Independent Order of Odd Fellows, 1413 Branch Brook Road, Mount Holly, VT 05758.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Aldous Funeral and Cremation Service.

Graveside services are pending for Thursday, Nov 8, 2001, at the Maple Grove Cemetery in East Wallingford. Pastor Jane Buswell will officiate.

ObituaryAug 3, 1997  OBITUARY: INMAN – A 76-year-old woman died early Thursday after fire broke out in her northern Spartanburg County home.

Veronica Decker, of 4326 State 11, in the Fingerville community, died of smoke inhalation, said Randy Smith, an investigator with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Decker died at the scene, Smith said. Her death has been ruled an accident by the coroners office.

Authorities received a 911 call at Decker’s home around 2:30 a.m. She lived alone in a single-wide trailer, behind her daughter’s home.

Smith said a neighbor smelled the smoke, came out and saw the fire and trried to help Decker but he couldn’t. She was found lying on the floor beside a bed said Chief Larry McCraw of the Cooley Springs Fire Department.

The fire started in the kitchen area. Its cause is being investigated, McCraw said.

FINGERVILLE Veronica Decker, 76, of 4326 Highway 11 West died July 31, 1997.

A native of Mount Holly, Vt., she later moved to the Chesnee and Fingerville areas. She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Rebideaux of Fingerville and Donna M. Emory of Ludlow, Vt; a son, Joseph A. Rebideaux of Plymouth, Vt; three sisters, Virginia Eddy and Harriette McDonald of North Clarendon, Vt., and Sherrie Surething of Mount Holly; a brother, Ephram Bussino of Mount Holly; and a number of grandchildren.

ObituaryNov 18, 2000  OBITUARY: MOUNT HOLLY - Sherrie L. Surething, 76, of Mount Holly died Nov. 15, 2000, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., after a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 24, 1924, daughter of Freeman and Louise Bussino.

She worked at Manchester Woolen and Jewel Brook Mill for 15 years and General Electric for 14 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherrie LeBlanc of Cavendish, Eileen White of Rhode Island and Deborah Gruber of Ludlow; a son, Gary Surething of Mount Holly; nine grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation in Ludlow. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow.

Therewill be no calling hours.

Contributations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.

He was born July 5, 1916, in Ludlow, the son of Martin and Lillian (Fritchie) MacDonald.

He attended Black River Academy in Ludlow.

Mr. MacDonald was employed by the Jewel Brook Woolen Co. for several years and General Electric Co. for 26 years, retiring in 1976.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Africa, Italy and France as a dental technician.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Harriette (Bussino) MacDonald of North Clarendon; a daughter, Kathleen MacDonald of Durham, N.C; a brother, Raymond "Bud" MacDonald of Ludlow; a sister, Irene Bush of Coos Bay, Ore; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard MacDonald; two sisters, Virginia Jameson and Lorraine Boris.

At Mr. MacDonald's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.

A private burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department., P.O. Box 168, North Clarendon, 05759.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home.
