Arthur Jason Wright said that his father (Charles) left the house for a loaf of bread and never came back.
He ran off to Chicago with a woman from Groton. They were later married in Chicago. Some time later they both returned to the Groton area in Massachusetts.

Arthur Jason Wright said he had seen his father (Charles) in the Groton area after they returned, but did not speak with him. When Charles passed away, Arthur was asked if he was going to his father's funeral. His reply was that he did not have a father and would not go to the funeral.5
