Survivors include four children, Dennis A. Benjamin Jr. and wife Elaine, Eva M. Sauls and husband David, Marjorie C. Walker, Virginia L. Taylor and husband Joe, all of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Nicole Sprake, Bryce, Eric and Nathan Benjamin, Jody B. Sauls, Chad J. Benjamin and Mariah E. Walker; and nine great- grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home where a celebration of Mr. Benjamin's life will be held Monday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Robert F. Pittman III. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to Thalia Lynn Baptist Church Benevolence Fund. Friends may offer condolences at www.mem.com.

She had a love for flowers, and her arrangements often won her ribbons with the Birchwood Garden club. Jeannette enjoyed her trips to her family's beach house, where she collected sea shells and to the mountains of North Carolina and Virginia. Jeannette had hobbies that included needlepoint, sewing, gardening, baking and mall walking. She was a very special woman that loved life and loved people. She was a social butterfly.
Jeannette is preceded in death by her husband Ralph M. Rountree, son James D. Rountree, parents Aline Hancock and James E. Wommack. She is survived by her daughter Sharon K. Wolf and her husband Troy Wolf of Kings George, Va., A sister Joan Dudley of Scotland Neck, North Carolina and sister-in-law Evelyn Lassiter of Sunbury, North Carolina. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your local Hospice organization.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg. A reception will follow the service in the Hospitality Center.
In lieu of flowers, take someone special to your favorite restaurant and buy a cold, refreshing beverage of choice! James loved his family and friends with all of his heart. His children were the animals that he owned throughout his life. He was such a free spirit * free now to ride with the wind!
