Allen and Ora Allen of Island Pond, and Dan Allen of East Charleston; a sister Mrs. Evelyn Hagaboon of Hardwick; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Note - His wife Kathleen (Lafoe) Allen died April 1, 1945 in Barton VT. Actual place of her burial not known at this time

ObituaryMay 4, 2017  OBITUARY: Michael J. Amell Sr., 87, of Enfield, beloved husband of Shirley (Colton) Amell for 63 years, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Medical Center.

Born and raised in Northfield, Vermont, he lived in Enfield for many years and was a retired machinist from Storm Drop Forging in West Springfield. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran who served his country honorably. Michael enjoyed tinkering around his home fixing many things at his own pace. He also valued the time spent working in his garden. His time away from his home was usually spent on the golf course as he was an avid golfer.

Besides his wife, Shirley, Michael is survived by a son, Michael J. Amell Jr. of Springfield; a grandson, Joshua Martin Amell and his wife, Stephanie, of Clinton, Massachusetts; and three great-grandchildren, Harrison, Nathaniel, and Lynn Amell. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers and one sister.

Funeral services are private.

Donations in Michael's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 383 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082.

ObituaryJun 1, 2003  OBITUARY: CHELSEA—Joseph O. Amell, Sr., 67, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at his friend’s home in South Royalton. He was born July 5, 1935 in Northfield, the son of Joseph O. and Elizabeth Mabel Amell.
He grew up and attended schools in Northfield and served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Air Force. After the service, he moved to Conn. and went to work at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. He worked at many different jobs throughout his life. He did accounting work for a short time, worked as a prison guard and, for several years, stocked vending machines for A.R.A. Vending. His primary occupation was as a custodian for a school system in Oregon.
He lived with his dear friend, Louise Caron, in South Royalton for five years before getting an apartment at the Chelsea Court in Chelsea this past year. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Lebanon, N.H. and the Moose Lodge in Barre. He enjoyed fishing and country music and loved to dance.
He was predeceased by four brothers: William, Frank, Bob, Darrel, as well as a sister, Rose Ann.is survived by two daughters: Nina M. Redin of Ludlow, Mass. and Kimberly Taliceao of Chicopee, Mass; a son, Joseph O. Amell, Jr. of Naples, Fla; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers: Paul Amell of South Royalton and Michael Amell of Hazardville, Conn. and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering was held Wednesday, June 4 at the Royalton Academy Building in Royalton village.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Royalton Rescue Squad, c/o Corinne Ingraham, 52 Roberts Road, South Royalton, Vt. 05068.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea.
