Ellen spent her childhood years in Greensboro Bend, Vt. She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1935. Ellen lived in Hardwick, Vt., Morrisville and Scottsdale, Ariz., where she worked for J.C. Penney. She married her husband, Harry, in Burlington, Vt., in 1937. She moved to North Port in 1974 and worked at the Majik Mart and Lemon Bay Drug Store. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the North Port and Myakka Pines Golf Clubs.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Demag of Morrisville; sons, Gary (Annette) of Milan, Mich., and Stephen (Linda) of Antioch, Calif; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Graveside services will be held in Vermont. National Cremation Society, Port Charlotte chapter, is in charge.
