Researcher's Note* In the 1623 Plymouth division of land Thomas Prence received on acre as a passenger on the Fortune. In the 1627 Plymouth division of cattle Thomas Prince, Patience Prince and Rebecca Prince are the tenth, eleventh and twelfth persons in the fifth company. In the Plymouth tax list Thomas Prence was assessed £1 7s. March 25, 1633. He resided at Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, before 1637. He was was allowed to join with Bradford, Allerton and Standish as a member of the Trade Monopoly. Later, in 1644, he and several other prominent families left Plymouth for better land and founded the community of Eastham, Massachusetts. He resided at at Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, in 1644. He became governor in 1634; and after the death of Governor Bradford in 1653, he became the undisputed leader of the Plymouth Colony. He was Governor of Plymouth Colony between 1657 and 1673. He resided at at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, before 1665. He left a will on March 13, 1672/73. The Inventory of Gov. Thomas Prence was taken Totalled £422 10s. 7d. on April 23, 1673.
