| Obituary | Aug 23, 1916 | OBITUARY: Mrs. Susan Herring, wife of Charles Herring, died Monday afternoon at her home in Elkton, after a period of declining health extending over two years. She was seventy-one years old. She was the daughter of Lively Morris and Kesiah Frazier Surviving her are her husband and children - Mrs. Joseph Crawford, of Baltimore; Scott Herring, of Washington; Mrs. C. V. Dofflemyer, Mrs. John Secrist, William Herring, Algerson Herring, Merl Maggie Moubray, all of Elkton; Leo Herring, of Greene County; George and Samuel Herring, of Elkton. She also leaves one brother, Noah Herring; and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Morris, Mrs. Nannie Frazier, and Mrs. Polly Ann Frazier, of Greene County. Mrs. Herring was a daughter of Lively Morris, of Greene County, where she was born and raised. Mrs. Herring was a member of the Christian Church. The funeral will be held this morning at eleven o'clock, from the home. Interment will be in Elk Run Cemetery. Published in the Daily News Record, VA - August 23, 1916.2 |
