ObituaryApr 2, 2010  OBITUARY: CANTELL ST. ALBANS/HIGHGATE - Madeleine M. "Che Che" Cantell, 68, passed away early Monday, March 15, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Christine Cantell with her family at her side.

Born on Nov. 11, 1941, in Bellows Falls, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Bernadette (Santor) Jacques.

Che Che was a 1959 graduate of B. F. A. in St. Albans and spent her working career with Grand Union, IBM and more recently with Price Chopper. She was a member of Green Mountain Post # 1, American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Robert E. Glidden Post# 758, Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary, St. Albans Lodge #1090, L.O.O.M., and Holy Angels Parish. Che Che enjoyed watching all types of sports, fishing, dancing, gardening and traveling with the Dufault and Blouin families. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time at the lake with her family and many friends.

Survivors include her children, Marc Cantell and wife, Tammy and their children, Samantha and Ryan of Sheldon; Christine "Cee Cee" Cantell of Highgate, and her children, Nicole Bushey and her fiancee, Andrew Robtoy of St. Albans, and Jonathan Bushey of Highgate ; a great- grandson, Jacob Andrew Robtoy; her siblings, Bernard and Rosalie Jacques of St. Albans; Francis and Jane Jacques of St. Albans; Henry Jacques of Burlington; Gloria and Ken Norcross of Fairfax; Paul and Sue Jacques of Alburgh; her sister-in-law, Glenda Jacques and many many nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, James "Walley" Cantell; brother, Victor Jacques; step-father, Herbert Norcross and dear friend, Madeline Dufault. Che Che wants to thank Richard Cantell who spent endless hours taking care of her. A special thanks to Donna J. Corrigan, Becky Benson, Franklin County HH/Hospice, a Special Thank you to Traci Pilbin for all her help in our Moms final days. NCSS, Franklin County Rehab, Jolley Associates, Mylan Tech, IBM for all their support, Dr. Alex John, Dr. Christian Thomas, Dr. Toby Sadkin, FAHC Infusion Center, and Susan, Louise, and Shelly from Dr. John's office... Thank you all for your love and support throughout.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Apr. 7, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street. The Reverend Maurice J. Roy will be celebrant assisted by the Reverend Mr. Duane E. Langlois, Deacon. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Che Che's family will receive friends on Tuesday, Apr. 6, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
