ObituaryApr 25, 2023  OBITUARY: Frederick "Fred" Joseph Provencher, III of Enfield, and S. Yarmouth, Massachusetts, beloved husband of 55 years to Lynn S. (Murray) Provencher, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2023, at Cape Cod Hospital.

Born in Springfield, son of the late Frederick J. and Eleanor (DeCaro) Provencher, Jr., Fred resided in Enfield until finally moving into his summer home full-time on Cape Cod in 2020.

He was a graduate of Enfield H.S. and attended Asnuntuck C.C. Fred joined the Enfield Police Dept. in 1969 as the Animal Control Officer, having retired in 2007 after 38 years of service.

In his earlier years he was actively involved with the Enfield Hockey Assoc. as a coach and on the Board of Directors. Fred always enjoyed fishing in his leisure time, whether it be here in Connecticut or on the Cape.

In addition to his wife Lynn, Fred is survived by his sons, Freddy Provencher IV and his wife, Michelle, and Kevin Provencher and his fiancée, Daphne; his grandchildren, Sarah and fiancé, Nick, Tyler, Carlie, Kyle and Katelyn; his brother Robert Provencher and wife, Debbie; his nephew Jeff and niece Jennifer and her husband, Mark. He is also survived by his Aunt Roberta DeCarlo. He was predeceased by a brother Richard Provencher.

Services for Fred will he held on Friday, April 28, 2023, with visitation period from 4 to 7 p.m.

Military honors will be rendered at 6:30 p.m., and a Prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PKD (Polistic Kidney Foundation), 2403 Sidney St. Ste. 205, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
