ObituaryNov 19, 1925  OBITUARY: Mrs. Dora Boles Cline, wife of Robert W. Cline, died last week Thursday morning at 1:15 o'clock at her home, 30 North Main Street, aged 73 years. For the past six years Mrs. Cline had been in declining health. Last February she suffered partial paralysis from which she recovered. In the early morning of October 22 she fell down stairs, suffering many bruises, although no bones were broken. She was confined to the bed, however, except for a few hours each day. On Friday, November 14, pleura pneumonia developed. She lapsed into a state of unconsciousness three days before her death from which she did not recover.

Mrs. Cline was born at Osnabruck, Ont., February 17, 1852, daughter of John and Margaret Scott Boles. She lived there until 15 years of age, when she came to Massena, living with friends and relatives here and at Louisville Landing until her marriage at Louisville Landing on November 2, 1876, since which time she had lived in Massena.

Surviving, besides her husband, are two brothers, Oliver Boles, of White River Junction, Vt., and Matthew Boles, of South Royalton, Vt; and three sisters, Mrs. Rachael Smith, of Sharon, Vt., Mrs. James Richards, of Louisville, and Mrs. Guy Grant, of the Springs. There are also two step-sons, Fred Cline of Newbury, Vt., and Albert H. Cline, of Niagara Falls; one step-daughter, Mrs. Albert Dow, of Exeter, N.H; and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Ruth Boles Campbell, wife of Rev. Harry C. Campbell, of Waterville, N.Y., who was with her several days before death. All of the children were present for the funeral. Another sister, Mrs. Susan Hessen, died here last February.

Mrs. Cline was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, from where the funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. F. E. Loan officiating. Burial was made at the old Congregational cemetery. Rev. Norman McLellan and Rev. George H. Stone, pastor of the Advent Christian church, assisted in the services. Mrs. Cline enjoyed a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Floral and other tributes only partially expressed the high esteem in which she was held.

Jane Boles was born in Osnabruck Center, Ont., February 17, 1854, and remained at home until January 1, 1872, when she was married to Alexander Henry and since then they have lived on farms in and near Massena until five years ago when they moved to the Springs. Mrs. Henry has been a great sufferer from chronic rheumatism, not having been able to take a step in the last five years, but she was never heard to complain.

Besides her husband she is survived by five sons and four daughters, John, Fred, Edwin, Sam and William, all of Massena; Mrs. George Orcutt, of Norfolk, Mrs. Richard Hartford, of Massena Center, Mrs. James Gilman, who resided at home and cared for her on mother, and Ida May Henry, who lived at home. She is also survived by five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Margaret Richards, Mrs. Robert Cline, Mrs. Guy Grant, of Massena, Mrs. William Hessen, of North Stockholm, Mrs. Fred J. Smith, of South Royalton, Vt, Oliver Bole, at Woodstock, Vt., and Matthew Bole, of South Royalton.

All that loving hands and medical skill could do to alleviate her suffering was done but nothing seemed to give her permanent relief. Mrs. Henry leaves a large circle of friends who will regret to hear of her death.

ObituaryMay 1, 1930  OBITUARY: Mrs. Rebecca Boles Grant, 69, widow of the late Guy L. Grant, for many years a resident of Massena, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Ethel) Winter, in Detroit, Thursday, (April 24, 1930) her death following an illness which had lasted about two years. The remains were brought to the home of her son, Harold Grant, in Brasher Falls, where the funeral was held Sunday afternoon. Rev. D. W. McVeigh, pastor of the Methodist church of Norfolk, conducted the services.

Mrs. Grant was born in 1859 in Osnabruck Center, Ontario, being one of ten children of the late John and Margaret Boles. When a young girl she came to Louisville, where she made her home with her sister, Mrs. James H. Richards, at Richards' Landing until her marriage to Guy L. Grant, of Massena. When she came to this village where she lived until the death of her husband in July of last year, and then went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Winter.

Surviving is her daughter and two sons, Harold Grant of Brasher Falls and Oral W. Grant of Detroit.

Burial was made in the family plot in the Raymondville cemetery.

ObituaryJul 11, 1929  OBITUARY: Guy Lincoln Grant, 69, a resident of Massena for over 50 years, died at his home at 72 East Hatfield street Wednesday afternoon (7/10/1929) at 5:30 o'clock.

He was born on April 28, 1860 in Raymondville, the youngest child of James and Loana Rosenbarger Grant. In early life he took up the trade of carpentry and contracting and has practiced in this village and surrounding territory.

On August 2, 1883 he married Rebecca Boles of Onasbruck Center, Ontario.

Besides his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Grant Winter, of Detroit; Mich., and two sons, Oral W. Grant, of Detroit, Mich., and Harold Grant, Brasher Falls, survive. Also surviving are three brothers, Wilbur Grant, of Ray, Raymondville, Frank Grant, of Plumbrook, and Zenas Grant of Grantville, and one sister, Mrs. William Gore Massena Springs.

Burial was made in Raymondville cemetery.
