He was born July 25, 1937, in South Royalton, the son of Earl and Louise (Potwin) Quillia. He grew up on his father's chicken farm on Route 14.
He worked at Files and Rice Veneer Mill in Bethel, and later at Stanley Tool in Pittsfield, where he worked for more than 35 years, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of the Royalton Congregational Church, where he served as deacon for many years. He was also a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge #74 in Royalton since age 17.
He loved the Red Sox, snowmobiling, his tractors, four-wheeling, camping, fishing, hunting and swimming.
He is survived by his wife, Flora (Gray) ,Quillia of South Royalton; two sons, Ron Quillia Jr. of Perkinsville and , Jeff Quillia of East Braintree; three daughters, Debra Welch of South Royalton, Wendy Sawyer of Cummington, Mass., and Sadie Letrault of South Royalton; four stepsons, Russell Finkle of Royalton, Carl Finkle of Torrington, Conn., Brett Finkle of Bristol, Conn., and Doug Finkle of Randolph; three stepdaughters, Gladys Curtis of Enfield, N.H., Shirley Johnson of Randolph and Heidi Carlson of Concord, N.H; and nine grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including a great-granddaughter born the day he died.
He was predeceased by his second wife, Tina Sawyer Quillia; a granddaughter, Susanne Dodge; and a step-daughter, Julie Finkle.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea. A funeral service will be Wednesday, June 7, at 2 p.m. at the Royalton Congregational Church with the Rev. Warren Gorman officiating.
Burial will be held at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Bethel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Royalton Congregational Church, P.O. Box 804, Royalton, VT 05068.

David was born on April 27, 1933 in South Pomfret, Vermont the son of Wesley and Lena (Wood) Luce.

David was a graduate of Woodstock High School class of 1951. On November 26, 1955 David married his high school sweetheart, Edna Mae Townsend. For a few years he drove the milk truck for the Woodstock Dairy Co-Operative. He then started a long career as an electrician. David worked for Leonard’s Gas and Electric, Richards Electrical Service, and the Quechee Lakes Group. David work for the Vermont Department of Labor and Industry as State Electrical Inspector for many years, retiring in 2007.

Together David and Edna traveled the state of Vermont teaching fire safety to schoolchildren with the fire safety trailer. They also enjoyed square dancing with the Sugarhouse Swingers and snowmobiling with the Pomfret and Barnard snowmobile clubs.

David was dedicated to the town of Pomfret. He served as Pomfret Constable for 30 years, was a 50-year member of the Teago Fire Department, the Pomfret Fast Squad, a long time member of the Teago and Bridgewater Grange, and helped in many community activities. David worked several years for the Vermont Farm Bureau on Field Days David also enjoyed hunting and was known for his long run of always coming home with an 8-point buck.

David is survived by his wife of 59 years, Edna of So. Pomfret, his daughter Louise and her husband Jerry Blakeney of Barnard, his son in law Jigger Barton of Reading, his grandchildren Dan and his wife Heidi Schaefer of No. Pomfret, Lisa Gibbons of Springfield, Ryan Blakeney and Loretta Blakeney of Barnard, 4 great grandchildren, a brother Edwin Luce of No. Bennington, VT, and a niece and nephew. He is pre deceased by his parents and a daughter, Patricia Barton.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday November 8th from 4 to 6 pm at the Cabot Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday November 9th at 2:pm in the Bridgewater Congregational Church, burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock, VT.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bridgewater Congregational Church, P.O. Box 4, Bridgewater Vermont 05034 or to the Teago Fire Department P.O. Box 40, So. Pomfret, VT 05067, or to the charity of ones choice.

David’s family is grateful to the many caregivers that made it possible for him to remain at home.

ObituaryJun 18, 2019  OBITUARY: Edna T. Luce, 83, died at her home in South Pomfret on Saturday June 15, 2019.

Edna was born on May 15, 1936 in Bridgewater Corners, Vermont the daughter of George Paul and Pearl Irene (Denton) Townsend.

Edna graduated from Woodstock High School in 1954. On November 26, 1955 she married her high school sweetheart, David Luce of South Pomfret. In addition to raising her family Edna was a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, worked at the Sterling’s Drug Store and the Teago Store, and cleaned homes for a number of families. She also enjoyed making cakes for all types of celebrations including many wedding cakes.

Together David and Edna traveled the State of Vermont teaching fire safety to schoolchildren with the fire safety trailer. They also enjoyed square dancing with the Sugarhouse Swingers and snowmobiling with the Pomfret and Barnard snowmobile clubs. She was a long time member of Windsor County Farm Bureau.Along with other family members Edna helped start the Pomfret Fast Squad and supported the Teago Fire Department for many years.

Edna enjoyed bird watching and especially liked red cardinals. She also spent time tedding and raking hay on her Massey Ferguson tractor, watching baseball, making donuts, caring for Mia her cat, and most of all time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Edna is survived by her daughter Louise and her husband Jerry Blakeney, her son in law Jigger Barton, her grandchildren; Dan Schaefer, Lisa Gibbons, Ryan Blakeney and Loretta Blakeney, her 4 great grandchildren; Alli, Haley, Shawn, and Boyd, her sister Alice and husband Bruce Paglia and nieces, nephew and many cousins. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband David and daughter Patricia Barton.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers who made it possible for Edna to remain in her home and be well cared for.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening June 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Cabot Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday morning June 21stat 11:00 in the Bridgewater Congregational Church, burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock, VT followed by a reception at the Bridgewater Grange.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bridgewater Congregational Church, P.O. Box 4, Bridgewater Vermont 05034 or to the Teago Fire Department P.O. Box 40, So. Pomfret, VT 05067, or to the charity of one’s choice.

ObituaryFeb 14, 2023  OBITUARY: ENOSBURG FALLS- Gary W. Draper, age 76, the youngest of seven children, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at his home in his recliner where he was most comfortable.

He was born in Fairfax on August 23, 1946 to the late Fred and Viola (Mitchell) Draper.

Gary grew up and attended school in Fairfield where he worked on surrounding dairy farms. He married Veronica Marshia on April 16, 1966 and the two made their home in Bakersfield. In 1966, he began working construction and eventually started a construction business with his oldest son in the early 90s- Gary Draper & Sons Excavation. When Gary wasn't working, which was seldom, he enjoyed sugaring, and spending time at the casino, even mentioning the day before his passing that he hoped to go gambling one more time. Although quiet, Gary did not have to say much for you to know exactly what he was thinking, which usually included a sarcastic comment followed by his famous smirk. He loved to tease his family and friends, and had a knack for giving some of the best nicknames.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Veronica Draper of Enosburg Falls; children, Molly Stetson of North Stratford, NH, Gary Draper and his wife Billie Jo of Enosburg, Jason Draper and his wife Jodie of Enosburg Falls, and Amanda Mobbs of Georgia; grandchildren, Korie Stetson-Coons and her husband Kaiser, Shelby Curtis and her husband Joshua, Zachary Stetson and his fiancé Sarah Fitzgerald, Jessica Kogut and her husband Jarad, Shaleigh Woods and her husband Jesse, Meghan Draper and her fiancé Sam Vaal, Bridgette Preston and her husband Jared, Robert Draper, Alison Dash, Aydan Dash, Avery Mobbs, and Sophie Mobbs; great grandchildren, Karlie, Kendall, Knox, Madison, and Jackson; sister, Carol Graves of Seal Beach, CA; mother-in-law, Jessie Mashia; siblings-in-law, David Marshia, Suzanne Carpenter and her husband Jim, and Tracy Ghostlaw and her husband Chris; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by a great grandson, Kash Coons, sister, Margaret Garrett; brothers, George, Ronald, Donald, and Frederick Draper; father-in-law, Philip C. Marshia; brother-in-law, Philip R. Marshia; and sister-in-law, Kathy Marshia.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 4-7:00PM at The Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450. A graveside service will be held this spring at the Egypt Cemetery in East Fairfield.
