DUDLEY, 71, Green Bay, passed away late Friday afternoon, July 14, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer, while surrounded by the love of his family at a local nursing home. Gene was born on December 17, 1928 in Wabeno to the late Ray and Hazel (Mattson) Dudley. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. Gene married the former Margery M. Hand on August 30, 1947 in Marion, Kan. and lived in Herington, Kan. for 13 years. The family moved to Green Bay in the mid-1950s. Gene worked at Northern Paper Mill as a printerman and retired from Fort James East in 1991. Gene is remembered by his family first and foremost for his great love for his family and also for his love of trout fishing.

Gene is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Margery; three children and one son-in-law, Francis G. Dudley and Michael R. Dudley, both of Green Bay; Terri and doug Nohr, Maribel; three grandchildren, Michael J. Dudley, Scott Dudley, Tammy (Ken) Remington, all of Green Bay; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alex Remington and Michael (Dudley) Kohn, all of Green Bay; two brothers and spouses, James (Catherine ) Dudley, Wabeno and Loyal “Tiny” (Jordes) Dudley, Woodruff; one brother-in-law and spouse, Tommy (Barbs) Hand, Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Leila Clough-Zadrazil, Marvel Vanderhoof and Irene Goodchild.

Friends may call at Malcore Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird Street, from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral. Funeral service will be Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Fewell officiating. Burial in Nicolet Memorial Garden.

Gene’s family extends a special thank you to Unity Hospice, especially Dar, Paula and Gene’s best friend, Pastor Steve.

ObituaryAug 28, 2020  OBITUARY: Fond du Lac - Donald A. Dudley, 91, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Don shared the same birthday as one of his grandchild's and he passed on the same day as a great grandchild's birthday. He was born to the late Arleigh and Myrtle (Grumann) Dudley in Northern Wisconsin where his grandparents on both sides lived much of their lives and told stories to their grandchildren of their adventures in Alaska while panning for gold and running moonshine in the northern woods of Wisconsin.

On February 18th 1950, Don married his sweetheart Mary Herbeck and celebrated 70 years of marriage.

He had a life full of adventures; From panning for gold in Arizona with his brother Lee to traveling many times to Montana to visit his daughter Debra with his three other daughters as well as skydiving at the age of 70 with his daughter Diane. In some of his younger years he learned to scuba dive and also traveled to Alaska while serving in the Army during the war.

While working for the State Patrol in Fond du Lac he climbed communications towers many times to do repairs and went on to design a new communication center. He wrote trade articles during his working years and read everything he could get his hands on from Steven Hawkins to Stephen King, always striving to expand his knowledge.

To his family, friends and those he met, he enjoyed quoting poetry just as he always did along with his siblings. He instilled a strong sense of family to his children and was always there to offer sound advice and even a bit of mischievous suggestions to his grandchildren. He was known to be a very social person and enjoyed connecting with friends for lunch, stopping by his children's house for a quick visit as well as picking up his grandkids on a Saturday afternoon for lunch on his 1966 Harley Davidson Police Special. He spent many summers at "Dudley's Dugout" hosting many family and friends, imparting his wisdom to all. His life has been full.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary; six children, Daryl (Ann); Debra (Jim); Dixie (Mike) Everson; Danny (Jammer); Diane (Paul) and Dena (Mike) O'Loughlin; 16 grandchildren, Chris (Katie) Dudley, Mike (Dawn) Dudley, Joe (Brooke) Dudley, Andy (Sarah) Dudley, Holly Dudley, Emily (Morgan) Sapp, Jessica (Craig) Habeck, Miranda (Nate) Mecklenburg, Sarah Everson, Katie (Mike) Kessler, Cortney (Jarred) Birschbach, Jake Dugenske, Chelsey Goebel, Alex Goebel, Tanya O'Loughlin and Carmen (Tom) Greicar; 33 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Arleigh Dudley and his sister, Joanne DonLevy.

The family would like to thank the staff of Azura Memory Care in Oshkosh for their wonderful care during his last weeks.

Due to the current pandemic, services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

LOWELL -- Beverly Haberman, a former Dracut resident and retired schoolteacher in town who later wrote a book on her struggle with blindness while continuing as an educator, died yesterday, June 6, in Lowell, after an extended illness. She was 62.
She was born in Lowell on Oct. 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Carl Y. and Lena (Parkhurst) Haberman. She received her early education in the Lowell and Dracut school systems. She graduated from Dracut High School in 1961. She received a bachelor's degree in education from the Lowell Technological Institute in 196
Mrs. Haberman started her teaching career in Dracut at the Greenmont School. She taught third and fourth grades until blindness forced her to retire in 1981. She later graduated from the Carroll Center for the Blind, and became an extremely active member of the Lowell Association for the Blind, where she taught Braille.
She was the author of her own autobiography, Ain't No Stopping Us NOW, published in 1997. She received the Etta P. McPhee award and many other awards for her independence and personal courage. She was also, a member of the former Highland Players. Mrs. Haberman was a member of Christ Church United in Dracut.
Her survivors include a daughter and her husband, Kristin and Gerson Colon of Dracut; a sister and her husband, Carlene and Joseph Buote of Dracut; and four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Carl B. Haberman of Hudson, N.H., Robert and Sylvia Haberman of Tilton, N.H., Donald and Donna Haberman of South Carolina, and Warren and Anne Haberman of Raymond, N.H; two granddaughters, Lydia Colon and Natalie Colon, both of Dracut. She also leaves her beloved boyfriend and companion, Harvey Lepine of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.
Haberman was also the sister of the late Francis Edwin Haberman.

ObituaryOct 9, 2019  OBITUARY: Brubaker, Richard “Dick”, retired USAF Lt. Col, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Dick was born in January 1934 in Philadelphia, to Lyda and Dallas Brubaker. He was Valedictorian of Media High School’s Class of 1951, then attended Gettysburg College, where he was in the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. At Gettysburg, he met Cynthia Garrow, whom he later married. Dick graduated in 1955 as a Distinguished ROTC graduate. He joined the United States Air Force and went to Pilot Training; he flew C-124 and C-141 planes for 12 years. He served in Vietnam, at Chu Lai Marine Air Base, in 1968-69, and received a Bronze Star for his service. Dick retired from the Air Force in 1975 and went to work as a Civil Service Contractor. Among his projects was equipping a new Air Force One during the GHW Bush Years. While in the Air Force and later in the Civil Service, he earned two Master’s Degrees and later a PhD in Public Administration. Dick was later employed by the State of Ohio, where he worked up until a month before his death. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Cynthia; four daughters; Patricia Zimmerman, Ann Varvel, Jill Brubaker and Jenny Wohleb. Four grandchildren: Andrew and Matthew Zimmerman; and Kristen and Kyle Bumgardner. He also has two great grand daughters, Lilly and Mackenzie Zimmerman. Dick was also active in Daedalians, Military Officers Association of America, and Aley United Methodist Church. He also volunteered at the Air Force Museum, where he accumulated 3,000 hours. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 at Aley United Methodist Church in Beavercreek. Visitation is from 5-6 PM with a service at 6:00 PM. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Air Force Museum Foundation, Daedalians Scholarship Fund, or Aley United Methodist Church. Born February 13, 1968, in Cherry Point, NC, he was a son of Lynda (Coffey) Grande of Salem, New Hampshire and Lawrence W. Alexander of Hudson, New Hampshire. He grew up in Dracut, attending the Dracut Schools, and graduated from Salem New Hampshire High School.
He made his home in Lowell for the past four years, and enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is survived by his beloved companion, Buddy the cat; his mother, Lynda and her husband, Richard, and his father, Lawrence, he is survived by his sister, Kimberly Alexander of Lowell; his aunts, Cynthia Patterson and her husband, John, of Dracut, Pamela Sirmopoulos and her husband, Peter, of Lowell, and Eva Coffey of Lowell; his uncles John Coffey of New York, Michael Coffey of Tyngsboro, and Randy Alexander and his wife Lorraine of Dracut; as well as numerous cousins and friends.
