ObituaryOct 27, 1984  OBITUARY: Kenneth Bruce Cantell, St. Albans Bay, age 70, of the Hathaway Point Road, died Friday morning in the Burlington Medical Center. He was born in Sheldon, Feb. 11, 1914, son of the late Harland and Elizabeth Hickok Cantell.

He was a plumber and for the past 30 years, operated a farm on Hathaway Point Road until his retirement in 1979. He was a member and past master of the Lakeside Grange, a seventh degree member of Pomona Grange and State and National Grange.

He was a former member of the Sterling Weed Imperial Orchestra and the St. Albans Boy’s Band. He is survived by his wife, Bernice, (Bisaillon) Cantell; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Arnold Hope; four grandchildren, Miss Robin Hope, Mrs. Wendy Hope, Mrs. Karen Hope, and Kenneth Hope, all of St. Albans Bah; a sister, Mrs. (Frances) Townsend, of Collingwood, Ont; several nieces and nephews. A brother, Earnest Cantell, predeceased him.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Brady and Lavesque Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home at 86 S. Main St., from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Interment will be in the family lot in St. Albans Bay Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Brady and Lavesque Funeral Home.

She is survived by two daughters, Eleanor Brady of Jefferson, N..H; and Barbara Gilbert of Groveton, N.H; one half-brother, Harold Ward of Sheldon Springs; four half-sisters, Doris Underwood of Unionville, CT., and Evelyn Bocash and Goldie Boucher, both of St. Albans, and Mrs. Mildred Sweet of Enosburg Falls; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Main Funeral Home in Groveton, N.H. Funeral services w ill be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Groveton Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Groveton, N.H. 03582.

Words of comfort were spoken by the writer at the S. W. Williams Funeral Home in Southbridge. Burial was in North Cemetery in Sturbridge.

Her husband, Harry D. Jones, died in 1988. She leaves two daughters, Beverly J. Creamer of Leicester and Judith J. Dow of Worcester; a sister, Winifred Lampa of Sturbridge; and four grandchildren. She was born in Medford, daughter of John and Catherine (Cronin) Cantell, and lived here 60 years before moving to Webster recently.
Mrs. Jones was a self-employed music teacher for many years. She was also a longtime soloist and choir director at several area churches.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Worcester, the American Guild of Organists and the Worcester Festival Chorus.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Caswell-King Funeral Home, 474 Grove St., Worcester. Pastor David Thomas will officiate.

Burial will be in North Cemetery, Sturbridge. Calling hours at the funeral home are 1 to 2 p.m. tomorrow.

The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2 Airport Drive, Worcester, 01602.

She leaves three nephews, Bruce Cantell of Brookfield, John Cantell of Spencer, and Kenneth Cantell of Worcester; and five nieces, Muriel Cantell of Spencer, Donna Cantell of Webster, Kay Webster in New Hampshire, Judith Dow of Worcester, and Beverly Creamer of Leicester. She was born in Sturbridge, the daughter of John and Katherine (Cronin) Cantell, and graduated from the former Mary E. Wells High School, Southbridge. She lived in Holland for the past 40 years.
She was a nurses' aide at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge, retiring in 1976. She previously worked in the accounts payable department at American Optical Corp. in Southbridge. She was later a cashier and teller at Southbridge Savings Bank.
Private funeral services were held yesterday in Bullard's Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge. Burial was private.
