ObituaryJan 11, 2010  OBITUARY: DAVID CITY, Neb./RICHFORD, Vt. - Peter J. King, age 50, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Jan. 1, 2010, in David City, Neb.

He was born on May 11, 1959, in St. Albans, Vt., the son Arlene (Dominque) King and the late Hollis King of Richford.

Peter was a resident of David City, Neb. for the past 10 years. He was employed in the shipping and receiving department at Kawasaki Motors in Lincoln, Neb. Peter spent most of his life in Richford. He attended Richford high school, where he enjoyed playing basketball. After high school Peter joined the National Guard and then the Army, he received an honorable discharge from both.

Peter was a dreamer and always followed his dreams whether they worked out or not. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed playing cards and darts with his friends. Peter also loved playing music, just like his father. He was part of several bands here in Vermont as well as one in David City, called The X-Factor. His band performed in his memory on Jan. 8, 2010, at his home where there was a celebration of his life.

He is survived by his mother, Arlene King of Richford; significant other, Patty Ibsguard; her children, Kaylyn and Colton; a daughter, Samantha King; and granddaughter, Katelynn Randall, all of David City, Neb; sons, Austin King of Stromsburg, Neb. and Pat Curtis of Richford; a brother, Dale King of Richford; five sisters: Helen Hoose of South Burlington, Maggie Monty and her husband, Robert, of Hinesburg, Barb Embury and her husband, Glenn, of Berkshire, Lori Sampietro and her husband, Keith, of Montgomery, and Holly Ryea and her husband, George, of Richford; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great-niece; also best friends, Steve Dumont and Robert Martin. Besides his father, Peter was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Mathias Hoose; and good friend, Guy Bouilette.

Celebration of Life Friday (01/08/10). Open house beginning at 10 a.m. at Pete's House: 240 N. 3rd Street, David City. Pete was cremated, no viewing or visitation. Memorials in care of the family. Arrangements by Chermok Funeral Home, David City.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God, located on Horseshoe Road in Berkshire, Vt.
