ObituaryJan 20, 2018  OBITUARY: Joyce A. Dutton, 79, of Newport, Vermont passed away suddenly on January 16, 2018 in Newport. She was born on July 19, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Alvin and Velma (Herman) Cook. She married Robert Dutton on January 25, 1958 and they were married for 31 years before he pre-deceased her on December 11, 1989. On October 4, 2008 she married Fernand Tanguay who survives her. Joyce graduated from O’Brien’s School of Cosmetology in 1991, an accomplishment she was very proud to achieve after the passing of her husband Robert. Joyce had a strong faith in God and was an active member of the Albany Methodist Church and Bible study group. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies, enjoyed gardening, being in the outdoors and going on hikes. Joyce will be dearly missed by her family whom she loved so much. She is survived by her husband Fernand Tanguay of Newport, VT, by her children: Gail Poutre and her husband Andre of Irasburg,VT, Rhonda Quirion and her husband Luc of Newport, VT, and Donald Dutton and his wife Susan of Newport, NH, by her grandchildren: Robbie Poutre and his partner Sasha, Andrea Poutre and Heather Poutre and her partner Kyle, Jennifer Davis and her husband Jeremy, Michael Quirion and his wife Moira, Julia and Alicia Dutton, by her great-grandchildren, Michaela Poginy, Christian Poutre, Alivia Poutre, Jeran Prue, Myra Lee Davis, Kailey Prue, Mitchell Davis, Gavin Quirion and another soon to arrive, 3 step grandchildren: Reanna Simpson, Alan Tanguay, and Megen Perkins, by her siblings: Richard Cook and his wife June of Rutland, VT, Ronald Cook and his wife Lea of Irasburg, VT, David Cook and his wife Laurie of Irasburg,VT, Donna Langdeau of Essex Junction, VT, Sandy Hodgson and her husband Jim of South Hero, VT, Jean Gosselin and her husband Robert of FL, and by her step children: Mike Tanguay and his fiancé Deb Cogan of Newport, VT, and Anita Perkins and her husband Tim of Williston, VT. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Pat Beck of CA, and by several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her mother-in-law Elizabeth Dutton, brother-in-law Robert Langdeau, sister-in-law Jean Dutton and niece Debra Levins. Friends and family may call from 1-4 P.M. on Friday January 19, 2018 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday January 20, 2018 at the Albany Methodist Church with the Rev. Nathan Strong officiating. Spring interment in Irasburg Cemetery.
