| Obituary | Feb 5, 1993 | OBITUARY: Charlie ''Otis'' Corbitt, 77, of Route 2, Box 143, Ahoskie, a retired farmer, died Feb. 3, 1993, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital. Mr. Corbitt was born in Sunbury, N.C. He was a member of Damascus Christian Church, Sunbury. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Otwell Corbitt; a son, Charles Henley Corbitt of Ahoskie; a sister, Sarah Roberts of Pittsboro, N.C; and two brothers, Fletcher Corbitt and Russell Corbitt, both of Sunbury. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Garrett Funeral Home by the Rev. Herman Hicks. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Susan Copeland, 801 Woodlawn Drive, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910. Neil S. Spruill Neil S. Spruill, 92, formerly of Route 3, Long Beach, Hertford, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 4, 1993, in Albemarle Hospital. A native of Chowan County, he was a retired commercial fisherman and had retired as a carpenter from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was the son of the late Billy and Addie Godwin Spruill and the widower of Pauline Dail Spruill. He was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, Carlton W. Spruill, Wilford D. Spruill and William Marion Spruill, all of Chesapeake; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Swindell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aubrey Winslow officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery with Swindell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
