| Obituary | Oct 14, 2003 | OBITUARY: He graduated from Maury High School in 1933 and then entered the Civilian Conservation Corps. During World War II he served in the U. S. Coast Guard. He had worked as a bookkeeper for Planter's Chemical Corporation for many years and then directed overseas transportation for Security Storage and Van Lines until his retirement. Mr. Lassiter was an accomplished pianist having played the piano by ear since the age of 4 years. He shared his talent of music with many organizations throughout the Tidewater area.
