ObituaryApr 30, 1971  OBITUARY: George W. Cantell, 78, died Wednesday evening in a St. Albans hospital following a short illness.

He was employed at the Standard Packaging Corp. in Sheldon Springs for 50 years, retiring in 1957. He was a resident of Sheldon Springs for most of his life. He made his home in Enosburg Falls for the past six years.

Mr. Cantell was born in Enosburg Falls Sept. 29, 1892, the son of Lyman and Alice (Lucuia) Cantell.

He leaves his wife, Hattie (Bishop) Cantell; two daughters, Mrs. Theresa Martel of St. Albans and Miss Madeline Cantell of Enosburg Falls; two brothers, Nelson Cantell of Sheldon Springs and Lloyd Cantell of Hancock; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 in St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Sheldon Springs, the Rev. David G. Sevigny celebrating a requiem high Mass. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Anthonyh’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Spears Funeral Home, 14 Orchard St/., Enosburg Falls, this afternoon 2 to 4 and this evening 7 to 9. Father Sevigny will recite the rosary at the funeral home tonight at 8:30. Spears Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
