He worked as a nuclear engineer for the federal government and was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Lodge 241 and York Rite, St. Petersburg, Masonic Lodge 219 Gulf Beach, Madeira Beach, Scottish Rite 32nd degree and Egypt Shrine Temple, Tampa, Abnaki Lodge 55 F&AM, New Brunswick, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees 5907, Washington, DC.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, L.J; a daughter, Ruth Baptiste, New Bedford; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. National Cremation Society, Largo.
