ObituaryDec 26, 2011  OBITUARY: Richford – Norman R. Robitaille, 62, passed away, following a lengthy illness, on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with his family at his side.

Norman was born on December 21, 1949 in Berkshire, the son of Maurice and Jeannette (St. Jules) Robitaille.

During his working years, Norman had farmed and worked at Blow & Cote in Morrisville for 40 years. He retired from the military in December of 2009 having served with the 131st Engineers in Jericho and, previously, with Co B, 1st Btn, 172nd Armor in Enosburg. He was a member of American Legion Post # 42 in Enosburg Falls and had held many of the offices there.

Norman was a hard worker and family man who especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He was always tinkering around his house and garage and enjoyed gymkhanas with his children and grandchildren, sulky racing, horse pulls, road hunting with his brother Rosie, attending the Barton Fair and spending an afternoon, weekly, at the Legion playing cribbage and poker.

Surviving are his wife Bonnie (Dunakin) Robitaille of Richford; his children, Melissa Nelson of Bakersfield, Marcey Godin of Enosburg, Norman Robitaille, Jr. of Swanton and Annie Robitaille of Richford; grandchildren, Jeremy, Brittany West, Leon West, Megan Delisle, Lacey West, Riley Donna, Dalton Nelson, Harley Donna, and Justica Delisle; 4 great grandchildren; his siblings, Leon Robitaille, Rosaire Robitaille, Raymonde Couture, Rolande Robitaille, Denise Lafontaine, Jeannine Hall, Rene Robitaille, Roger Robitaille and Paul Robitaille.

In addition to his parents, Norman was predeceased by 3 siblings, Normand, Jeannine and Micheline.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment with military honors will take place in the spring in All Saints Cemetery, Richford. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.
