She worked as a computer parts controller for Joy Manufacturing Company for 35 years and retired in 1980. She is a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church.

She married Dean Whitwell Read on May 12, 1945 in Claremont, but they later divorced.

Family includes numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including Christopher G. Deurell of Claremont, NH; Jo Ann U. Chase and her husband, Harold of Claremont and Cynthia Rozela of East Hartford, CT.

She was predeceased by one brother, John Usko; four sisters, Annie Tobin, Stacy Jones, Helen Usko, Rose Duerell and cousin, Jennie Tinker.

Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont.
