Mrs. Lemieux was born on October 16, 1946, in North Troy, a daughter of the late Malcolm and Grace (Sanville) Gibney.

On November 30, 1963, she married Alfred Lemieux, who survives her.

She was a licensed child-care provider and owned and operated Mama Bear Day Care Center for 16 years. She loved her occupation, especially the children for whom she cared during the years. More recently she was also pursuing an associate's degree in secretarial science, which was almost completed. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, and working in her flower garden. Decorating for Halloween and Christmas were special to her. She enjoyed cooking the big Sunday dinners for her family and spending time with her grandchildren, but most of all she loved her family and life.

Besides her beloved husband, Alfred Lemieux Sr., of Newport, she is survived by her dear children: Alfred J. Lemieux Jr. and his wife, Dajana, of Newport, Tony J. Lemieux and his wife, Rose, of Newport Center, Rodney J. Lemieux and his wife, Lynn, of McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, Kathy Montminy and her husband, Bruce Jr., of Glover, and Michelle Billado and her husband, Carlton Jr., of Troy; by her cherished 14 grandchildren; by brothers Wendell Sanville of Milford, Massachusetts, and Jake Gibney of Bath, New Hampshire; by sisters: Joyce Paradis of York, Maine, Betty Currie of Milford, Massachusetts, and Susie Judkins of Marshfield; and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, at North Troy United Church with the Reverend Frank Massa officiating. Interment will follow at North Troy Cemetery.
