ObituaryAug 2, 2007  OBITUARY: FLORIDA – Louis L. Lerman, a resident of Florida since 1946 and of Vero Beach, Fla., since 1990, died Aug. 1, 2007, surrounded by his family at Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton, Fla. He was born April 19, 1922, in Manhattan, N.Y. At age 18, he left New York for the New England states. Mr. Lerman entered the military service from Maine. During World War II, he served with the 9th Armored Division and distinguished himself at the Battle of the Bulge, earning the Bronze Star for bravery. He rendered great service at Florida Power & Light for 31 years, retiring as administrator of governmental services. Mr. Lerman was a member of The Community Church of Vero Beach, Fla. Surviving him is his wife and best friend, Priscilla; his daughter, Cheryl Dionne and son-in-law, Steve, of Newington, Conn; and his son, Kenneth Lerman and daughter-in-law, Arlene, of St. Agatha. He also leaves his devoted sister, Evelyn Freed of Boca Raton, Fla., who had been by his side for the last two months; three grandchildren, Stephen Dionne of Newington, Conn., Douglas Lerman and his wife, Tammie, of St. Agatha and Amy Strong and her husband, Robert, of Freeport; three great-grand-children, Cameron and Bobby Strong of Freeport and Abigail Lerman of St. Agatha; nephew, Dr. Jeffrey Freed; and stepchildren, David McGreevy and Mark McGreevy and wife, Michelle, along with their children, Kirsten and Leah. There will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Grace Chapel, 1901 23rd St., Vero Beach, Fla. Interment is at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce, Fla. Donations may be made to The Community Church of Vero Beach, Fla., or St. Agatha Historical Society or hospice care of your choice. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home, Florida.
