ObituaryAug 5, 2002  OBITUARY: ST. ALBANS -- Mr. Howard E. Harvey, age 82, died Saturday evening, Aug. 3, 2002, in the Haven Health Center following an extended illness. He was born in St. Albans March 10, 1920, son of the late Harold H. and Monica M. (Shover) Harvey. He married Alma L'Esperance Feb. 9, 1942.

He enjoyed his family times at their summer camp and loved traveling the back roads. Howard was employed at the Central Vermont Railway as a mechanic for several years and later was a mechanic for the H.W. Hungerford Ford Dealership and worked at White Fuels.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Alma Harvey of St. Albans; his sons, Maurice A. Harvey and his fiancée Mary Mead of Charlotte, Charles E. and his wife Solange Harvey of Westford; daughters and their husbands, Elaine and Roger Lissenden of Bakersfield, Donna and Spencer Brooks of St. Albans Town, Susan and Thomas Miller of Swanton; his brother, Harold J. Harvey of Biloxi, Miss; nine grandchildren, Kelly and John Fisher, Karen Lissenden, Roger Lissenden II, Krista and Bret Greenstein, Jason and Andrea Harvey, Tayt Brooks, Kelly Brooks, Ashley Harvey, Erin Harvey; seven great-grandchildren, Jason and Elaina Fisher, Michael and Shawnee Lissenden, Benjamin and Emily Greenstein, Cooper Harvey; his extended family, Susan Hunkins and Gloria Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law Gertrude Sheloski of Strattford, Conn., Francis and Elaine L'Esperance of St. Albans, Armand and Betty L'Esperance of St. Albans, Maurice and Haroldine L'Esperance of St. Albans, Laurent and Penny L'Esperance of Sheldon, Raymond and Melaine L'Esperance of St. Albans Town, Pamela L'Esperance of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Todd Miller; a great-granddaughter, Savannah Harvey; and brother-in-law, Edward L'Esperance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Monday). Interment will be in the Harvey family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
