Mrs. Smith was born in the Corapeake section of Gates County. The daughter of the late Joseph and Mrs. Mary Augustus Parker Speight, she was a homemaker and a member of Middle Swamp Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late Isaac Elliott Smith.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Middle Swamp Baptist Church by the Rev. Russell Blanchard and the Rev. Paul Parker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge. The family will assemble at the church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and will receive friends following the service in the church social hall.
