He was born in Lewiston, Maine, April 22, 1914, the son of the late Louis J. Hill and Mrs. Ada (Austin) Hill. He graduated from Enosburg Falls High School.

He was a member of Siloam Lodge 92, F&AM of Fairfield, Maine, the American Legion, Bourque-Landigan Post 92 of Waterville, Maine. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Bekiash Temple in Concord, NH.

He was the owner of a laundry and dry cleaning business in Manchester at the time of his death.

Besides his mother, Mrs. Ada Hill of Swanton, VT and Manchester, he leaves his wife, Marion P. Hill of Manchester; two sons, Louis J. Hill of Bristol, VT and William L. Hill II of Manchester; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Kathleen) Logue of Vancouver, WA; and one grandchild.
