ObituaryOct 23, 2010  OBITUARY: CHARLOTTE -- Arletta (Sorrell) Hallock, 67, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 in Starr Farm Nursing Home of Burlington.
She was born Dec. 15, 1942 in Burlington, the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Bell) Sorrell. She worked at Monkton Central School. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Charlotte. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister.
Arletta is survived by two children, Carroll Hallock of Hinesburg and May Loyer of Charlotte; four grand- children, Hailey, Madison, Ryan, and Kyle; two sisters, Bernice Leachman of Georgia and Audrey Bean of Vergennes; two brothers, Charles Sorrell of Hinesburg and Glenn Sorrell of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Annita.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Charlotte. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Charlotte. Friends may call at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m.
