ObituaryOct 25, 1999  OBITUARY: Robert Willard Norton, 77, of the 700 block of Beech Ridge Road, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Albemarle Hospital.

He was a native of Mechanicsville, N.Y., the son of the late Willard and Allie Eastman Norton. He was the husband of Ruth Josselyn Norton of the residence. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, helped to establish Our Lady of the Seas in Buxton, N.C., and was eucharistic minister for the church. He was a Boy Scout leader and a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Besides his wife, Mr. Norton is survived by two daughters, Terry Theriault of Rome, N.Y., and Mary Norton of Brille, N.J; two sons, Robert H. Norton of Virginia Beach and James B. Norton of Clifton Park, N.Y; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father John Gillespie officiating. Entombment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors. Twiford's Northside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
