ObituaryOct 19, 2003  OBITUARY: SWANTON ­ Mrs. Helen Loretta Duprey, 91, a longtime resident of 39 Platt St. in Swanton Village, died early Saturday evening, Oct. 18, 2003, in Redstone Villa in St. Albans City.
She was born in Cornwall, Sept. 7, 1912, the daughter of the late James and Loretta (Highter) Parish. She attended schools in New Haven and Bristol, and on Nov. 6, 1934 married Clarence Bernard Duprey Sr. who predeceased her on Jan. 1, 1976.

Mrs. Duprey will always be remembered as an avid Atlanta Braves fan and for her love of reading, watching her soap operas and gardening.

Mrs. Duprey leaves two daughters, Shirley Banyea and her husband, Henry, of Highgate Falls, and Diana Thuot and her husband, Richard, of Chatham, N.H. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Duprey of Highgate Center; six grandchildren, Mark Banyea and his companion Paula Greenia of Highgate Center, Brenda Witham and her husband, Ronald, of Highgate Center, Sharon Lontine and her husband, Bobby, of Swanton, Scott Duprey and his companion, T.C., of Sheldon, Brian Duprey of Highgate Center and Laurie Ann DeWitt and her husband, Shawn of New Hampshire; eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer Banyea and friend Brian, Jody Banyea and companion Leigh, Josh Banyea and companion Ginny, Holden Banyea and Amanda Lee Witham all of Highgate, Kari Velma Lontine of Swanton and Liana DeWitt and companion Dana and Ricky DeWitt of New Hampshire, one great-great-grandson, Dillon Joshua John Banyea of Highgate Center and a very special friend, Roberta Perry of Swanton as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Virginia Ann Moore on Nov. 8, 1994; and a son, Clarence Bernard Duprey Jr. on June 27, 2003.

Funeral services and interment in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Swanton Village will be private and at the families convenience .
