Ardon was born Aug. 8, 1938, in Arlington, Iowa, to Wayne and Enid (Crawford) Puffett.

Ardon and Marian were married Oct. 6, 1962, at St. Mary's Church in St. Albans, Vt. Ardon served from 1958 to 1962 in the United States Air Force.

Ardon retired in 1998 after 35 years with Northwest Bell, U.S. West and Quest telephone companies. They moved to the Missouri Ozarks in the fall of 1998.

Ardon is survived by his wife, Marian of 43 years; and by his two sons, Anthony and his wife, Noelle of Cherokee, Iowa; Jeffrey and his wife, Jen of Carroll, Iowa; two granddaughters, Suzanne of Sioux City, Iowa and Kylie of Carroll, Iowa; grandsons, James of Cherokee, Iowa and Keaton of Carroll, Iowa; great-granddaughter, Madison of Sioux City, Iowa; his mother, Enid, 96 years old of Cabool, Mo; brother, Nathan and his wife, Darlene of Arlington, Iowa; brother, Kenny and his wife, Brenda of Claremore, Ok; brother, Roger and his wife, Dena of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sister, Norma and her husband, Kenerd of Theodosia, Mo; sister-in-law, Sherry Puffett of Yukon, Ok; his mother-in-law, Florence Cameron of St. Albans, Vt; brother-in-law, Rodney Cameron and his wife, Monica of St. Albans; sisters-inlaw, Carol Dupont and her husband, Alain of St. Albans, Bea Coon and her husband, Gregory of Swanton, Sandra Messier and her husband, Gary of West Plains, Mo; Sherry Juaire and her husband, David of Fairfield; Merry Souza and her husband, Richard of Highgate; several aunts, nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Bill Clinton of Carroll, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; father-in-law Alfred Cameron; and his brothers, Leland and Jerry.
