Obituary | Feb 2, 2010 | OBITUARY: Raymond Peddie of Harley Township, Ontario, Canada, died February 1, 2010, at Extendicare Nursing Home. He was born in New Liskeard, Ontario, Canada, on January 22, 1926, to Charles and Adeline Peddie and educated at Harley School Number Five. Mr. Peddie married Annie Broderick in Thornloe, Ontario, on January 16, 1947. He worked as a labourer (surveyor) and he was also a farmer. Mr. Peddie was known for his sense of humour, colourful jingles and stories and his great love of horses and bush work. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annie; children Linda (Merrill Dickinson), Allan (Pauline Desjardins). Terri (Neill Loach), Nancy (Eric Loach), Patsy (Rene Gauvreau), Tom, Bonnie (Robert Hearn), Connie (Neil Gagnon) and Shawn (Luc St. Amant); son-in-law Lucky Newton, 30 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Adeline Peddie and by his daughter, June Newton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, at 2 p.m. at Perrin Funeral Chapel, Reverend Micol Cottrell officiating. Cremation has taken place.
