ObituaryJul 8, 2000  OBITUARY: NORTH CLARENDON - Thomas W. Swahn Sr. 63, died July 7, 2000, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., after a short illness.

He was born Oct. 16, 1936, in Florence, son of Broor E. and Dorothy (Beauchamp) Swahn.

Mr. Swahn graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and attended Castleton State College.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Swahn worked for General Electric Co. in Rutland for more than 30 years.

He was active as a Boy Scout leader in the Rutland area for several years.

Survivors include a son, Thomas W. Swahn Jr. of Tunbridge; two daughters, Sharon Hawkins of Wilder and Diana Swahn of Hawaii; three sisters, Mary Barber of Lancaster, Calif., Linnea Swahn-Packard and Christine Swahn, both of Rutland; four brothers, John Swahn and Charles Swahn, both of Rutland, Robert Swahn of Knoxville, Tenn., and Donald Swahn of Pittsford; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no funeral service.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
