ObituaryMar 5, 2012  OBITUARY: Lawrence Lovelette Sr. 73, passed away March 2, at Northwestern Medical Center, after a yearlong battle with lung cancer, with his family at his side.

Lawrence (Butch) was born in Richford, Sept. 5, 1938, one of 12 children of the late Merritt and Mildred (Domina) Lovelette. He graduated from Richford High School in 1957, joined the Army serving in Fort Bragg, NC and Germany. Butch was employed at the Missisquoi Paper Mill in Sheldon for over 30 years, retiring in 2000 to his home on the Sheldon Rd. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Butch is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith (Lumbra) Lovelette, daughter, Heidi (Marcel) Breton of Peru, NY, his son, Lawrence Jr. (Julie) of St. Albans and son, Christopher of Shelburne. Surviving grandchildren are Kaitlyn, Megan, and Nicole Breton, Kelsie and Brandon Lovelette. He is also survived by siblings: Allen (Janice) Lovelette of Bangor, Maine, Janice Gale of Burlington, and Sally (Dexter) Ovitt of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

He was predeceased by siblings,Virginia, Merritt (Buster), Leland (Hoover), Norman, Loren, Malcolm(Mackie), Beverly Duso, Robert (Joe) and brother-in-law, Bill Gale.

Surviving in-laws: Olive, Eleanor, Yvonne,and Velma Lovelette and Robert Duso; several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Drs. Grunberg and Rowland and their staff of Fletcher Allen for their care and concern and the nurses of Northwestern Medical Center for their comfort care as well as the Franklin County Home Health Agency.

Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, and the funeral is at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1460, Williston, VT 05495.
