ObituaryAug 24, 2013  OBITUARY: Dean “Dino” Edward Wells, 83, of Irasburg died on August 23, 2013, in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

He was born on April 30, 1930, in Albany, the son of Ralph and Mattie (Demerritt) Wells.  On December 21, 1955, he married Audrey Jean Benjamin of Derby, who predeceased him.

Mr. Wells owned and operated a dairy farm in Irasburg since 1961.  He was a truck driver and logger, which was his life work for over 50 years.  When he was younger he loved riding motorcycles, and playing the guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and piano.  His band played in several nightclubs in the area and produced two albums.  He loved going to the Tunbridge and Fryeburg fairs.  He was a very social person who had a great sense of humor, loved his family, and he also loved having a good time with his family and friends at his garage.  That garage in Irasburg was the site of many large corn roasts featuring live music from local artists and friends.

He is survived by his children:  Kenneth Lance Wells and his wife, Lori, of Orleans, Randall Layne Wells and his companion, Patricia Kilday, of Irasburg, Janis Leigh Patoine and her husband, Norbert, of Sutton, Holly Lynne Tremblay and her husband, Tony, of Brownington, Gayle Lynda Veilleux and her husband, Mark, of Westfield, and Dean Edward Wells II of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; his 12 grandchildren:  Brandon and Paige Wells of Orleans, Anni and Lance Wells of Irasburg, Denis Royer and Ernie and Matt Wells of Sutton, Sara Locke, Jim and Angie Davio, Chelsey and Ryan Vellieux of Westfield; his 12 great-grandchildren:  Emily, Ashton, Gavin, Leah, Audrey, Denis III, Mattie, Josie, Lily, McKenzie, Madison, and Morgan; and by his nephew Michael Wells of Albany.

He was predeceased by his brother Arland Wells; and by his nephew Gene Wells.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, at the Curtis-Britch & Davis Funeral Home in Craftsbury Common.  Funeral services will be held at the Irasburg United Church on Thursday, August 29, at 11 a.m., with the Reverend Rick Shover officiating.  Interment will follow in the Irasburg Cemetery.
