ObituaryAug 28, 2004  OBITUARY: Richford Herman E. "Tinker" Luman, 76, passed away Friday evening, Aug. 27, 2004, at the Northwestern Medical Center with his family at his side. He was born in St. Albans on Feb. 17, 1928, the son of the late Fred and Mary "Cameron" Luman. He was married to Lillian Dufresne, who survives him.

Tinker entered the Armed Forces in 1946 and proudly served his country through several conflicts. He was a distinguished Army veteran, serving in Korea and five tours in Vietnam. Tinker was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Robert E. Glidden Post # 758, and a member of the American Legion, Richford Post# 12. As a member of the American Legion, Tinker continued his service to the Armed Forces by holding the post of Service Officer, where he assisted other Veterans for numerous years. Outside of his dedicated service, he enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian, of Richford, three sons, Michael Luman and his wife, Kathy of St. Albans, Philip Luman of Swanton and John Luman of St. Albans, his sister, Lillian Robtoy of St. Albans, his brother, Raymond Luman and his wife, Helga, of Willingboro, N.J., two step-sons, Philip Bruley of Indiana, Pa. and Jeffrey Bruley of Bakersfield, four step-daughters, Valerie Kimball of Gainesville, Va., Marie Isom and her husband, Scott, of Aurora, Colo., Samantha Ovitt and her husband, Blaine, of Bakersfield, and Jessica Tatro and her husband, Robert, Jr., of Fairfield, seventeen grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Fred, Frank and Robert and his sister, Alice Gray.

In accordance with Tinkers wishes, private funeral services were held this morning in the Heald Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy, Rector of Holy Angels Parish officiating.

Interment followed in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
