ObituaryAug 11, 2013  OBITUARY: KILLINGTON - Norman L. Whittier, 90, died at his home in Killington on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.

He was born in Cherry River, Canada, on May 14, 1923, the son of Lloyd T. and Abby (Megs) Whittier. He and his family moved to Newport, Vt., when he was 2 years old and he later moved to Killington.

Mr. Whittier was a logger for a number of years and then worked for 26 years in the Maintenance Department for Pico Mountain. He also ran a radio and television repair shop in Killington. He enjoyed working outside and tinkering with all kinds of equipment.

He is survived by his wife Lucinda (McKinsty) Whittier of Killington; a son, Albert of Woodstock; two sisters, Shirley Holt of Springfield, and Catherine McKinney of White River Junction.

He was predeceased by a brother.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Riverside Cemetery in Killington.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 29 Mansfield, Ave., Burlington, VT 05401.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.
