He was a survivor of Company III, First Battalion of Grenadiers, under Col. Van Schopp, troops of His Majesty King George the Third, at the Battle of Waterloo, where he was wounded in the shoulder.

His funeral will take place this Friday, September 14, 1883, at 9:30 a.m., from his late residence, 355 South Bond Street, Baltimore, MD thence to Emmanuel Church, on Caroline Street.
