ObituaryFeb 21, 2013  OBITUARY: DRACUT -- William N. "Bill Pappas" Pappaconstantinou, 81, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 20th, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Brooks) Pappaconstaninou, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

William was born in Lowell, MA on March 15, 1931, a son of the late Simone (Metropolis) and Nicholas Pappaconstantinou. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army as a medic where he was awarded both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service in the Korean War, as well as earning several metals for marksmanship.

After his honorable discharge, Bill was employed as a tractor trailer driver where he had logged over five million accident free miles.

Bill was a proud Dracut resident and was active in Dracut town politics, as well as being an ardent town advocate. He greatly enjoyed volunteering his time at the Dracut Public Access Television station. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his four children, Diane LeCato and her husband, Harvey of CO, Ken Pappaconstantinou and his wife, Carmel of Tyngsboro, William "Billy Pappas" Pappaconstantinou and his wife, Meryl of Billerica, and David Pappaconstantinou of Dracut; his seven grandchildren; Matt, John, Christina, Kenny, Angela, Stephanie and Billy Jr; six great-grandchildren; Landon, Dylan, Miles, Connor, Danielle, and Thomas, and his half brother Harry "Bill" Pappas.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Donna Pappaconstantinou.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 23rd from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. A memorial service will be held directly following calling hours at 12 p.m. in the chapel at St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
