ObituaryFeb 11, 2007  OBITUARY: YAKIMA - Joseph Wingate McQuesten passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born May 8, 1926 in Yakima to George Dowe and Mabel McQuesten. He graduated from North Yakima High with the class of 1943 1/2 and served in the U.S. Army from 1944-46. Joseph met and married Juanita M. Brown of Wapato in 1947 and they raised three children.

Joseph completed an Associate of Arts degree at Yakima Valley College and a B.A. Degree in Accounting from the University of Washington. While working with Frame and Whiting C.P.A.'s, he obtained his C.P.A. license and opened a branch office in Sunnyside. Joseph then continued in his own Accounting practice in Sunnyside, Grandview and Selah for 55 years.

Joseph was active in many civic service organizations and had numerous friends. He considered all his clients, co-workers and employees as valued friends. He was known for his integrity, character and work ethic.

Joseph's hobbies centered around working on his cabin at Rimrock where he grew up and spent many holidays with his family. He had a soft spot in his heart for all animals, especially the many pets, birds and deer he fed over the years.

Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita, his parents, his sisters Rosemary Karuzin and Emily Fitzpatrick, and his grandson Randal Kisler.

He is survived by his wife Betty Young-McQuesten; his children Michael (Cheri) McQuesten, Patricia (Darrel) Kisler and Kathryn (Joel) Zivic; his step-children Rick (Jeri) Young, Mikal (Rick) St.Mary, Jill (Allen) Noble and Jane (Ryan) Orm. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grand children.

Services will be at 2 P.M. on Friday, February 16, at the Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Entombment will follow at the Terrace Heights Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to a charity of your choice. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements
